These are exactly what they say they are. They are expenses incurred on a business trip. For example if you travel accrossed the country to see a client, you can write off numerous expenses against your taxable income. For example, your meals, hotel rooms, etc. can all be written off either to the business you work for or directly from your taxable income if you own the business.
