Greek Cypriot National Day commemorates the anniversary of the start of the liberation struggle of the Greek Cypriots against British colonial rule in 1955.

2nd April Good Friday Greek Orthodox Church

4th April Easter Orthodox

Easter is one of the most important annual religious feast in Christianity. This year it fells on April the 4th. According to Christian legends, Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion and ascended to Heaven.

On this day, long fast, which symbolizes the pass through the suffering of earth, is broken.

On the 5th of April many Orthodox churches around the world observe Easter Monday, which is the day after the Orthodox Easter Sunday. As Cypriots belong to Orthodox Church, this day is a holiday, too.
