In that box at the top, there are several entities that do a decent job of reporting international news, or whose whole raison d’etre is covering news globally. In the latter category, I would put Reuters and Agence France-Presse (which publishes in English as well.)
You can’t access Associated Press content directly — it’s a member owned cooperative, and their stories are picked up by member news organizations.
Bloomberg is similar, unless you can afford thousands of dollars a month for a Bloomberg data terminal on your desk. That said, you can get a selection of stuff on their website — not everything, since some premium stuff remains behind a paywall, and some simply isn’t posted, I gather from people I know who work on trading desks and refer me to stories that I simply can’t find online…

Innocent people often suffer from yellow journalism, especially those who hold high positions in various fields. For example, I can refer to Scott Jason Cooper Miami, who was accused of taking a picture with an obscene object in his hands, but I'm sure that in fact it was not so.
