ResMed quarterly profit rises 26 pct. The company posted a net profit of $33.9 million, or 44 cents per share, for its fiscal second quarter, compared with a profit of $26.9 million, or 34 cents per share, a year.

Hartford posts large Q4 net loss, to cut div. The huge net loss totaled $806 million, or $2.71 a share, compared with a profit of $595 million, or $1.88 a share, in the year-earlier quarter.

Mettler-Toledo International, sees a very weak 2009. Co issues downside guidance for Q1, sees EPS of $0.80-0.90 vs. $1.09 consensus. Co issues downside guidance for FY09, sees EPS of $4.80-5.30 vs. $5.96 consensus.
