Q1 loss of $0.02 per share, $0.18 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.20); rev rose 56.3% year/year to $80 mln vs the $74.8 mln consensus. Issues upside guidance for FY09.

(VMW) - short
Forecasts Q2 revenue flat or down from a year ago $456 mln.

Positive territory was in control today with major U.S. indices posting favorable gains into the closing bell. Trading activity was mixed throughout the trading session. Spring time temps in the North East set the stage for golfers who have been hibernating all winter. Many took off early to enjoy some fun in the sun.
