Gains across the board were seen today as the DOW climbed higher by the closing bell, with a gain of over 200 points. Pending home sales increased nicely, better than expected, setting the stage for the market to move ahead, into the zone of the Bull. Construction spending made a nice move as well, with an increase by 0.3% versus expectations of a decline by 1.6%.

Hologic lost $2.3 bln or $8.97 per share in 1Q compared with net income of $56 mln or 22 cents a share for prior year.

FMC Corp missed on rev, guides Q2 EPS below consensus and guides FY09 EPS below consensus.

(MYGN) - short
Myriad posted rev of $87.5 mln but analysts had forecast greater revenue of $90.5 mln.

Tight trading ranges created a snug trading atmosphere for traders on Wall Street today. Trading action was to the downside. Even with mostly positive comments from the Fed Chairman, the markets were unable to gain any ground.

Ahead of the release of stress test results, with some results slipping out early, the markets ended the trading session in positive territory. The trading session was generally mixed during the trading day. The NASDAQ was held in negative territory during most of the day. The DOW and NYSE were held by the Bulls, during most of the session.

Gains were seen across the board today, regardless of the fact that jobless date hit a 26 year high. The hope occurred with Aprils' job losses haven't been this small of a decline since October. Stress test results came out yesterday after the bell and out of the 19 largest banks, 10 must raise more capital with a combined total of over $75 Billion.
