What screw or fastener have others used to secure heat transfer plates to the underside of the subfloor?
We are using a heavy 0.06" thick aluminum heat transfer plate with 1/2 PEX. Installed about 30 plates, cleaned up at the end of the day and everything looked good. Went home that night and come back to the job the next day and found two screw heads had broken off over the night. Now I am concerned that when we start heating the system more screws will break.

I used a fixing screw for such heat transfer plates. One of the common reasons you should choose this type of screw is its versatility. They are stronger than their counterparts and consequently are in high demand in the market. They are very useful for holding parts together and are even suitable for heat transfer plates. Another reason you should choose them is that they are available in various head types, custom shapes, sizes, and discs: round, flat, square, flat, etc. Here are the Scrooz Fasteners I used. They might work for you too.
