i agree with mike,
However, insteading of boycotting, it's time we unite as human beings and expose all types of extremism in our societies.
This target thing is ridiculous. its just going to get worse in my opinion until the public at large wakes up and realises who/what teh real threat to our freedom is.
Let's not divide just because of different religious views or are of different backgrounds. in fact, bcos of our differences, we should be integrating so that we may learn from one another.
politically correct is an oxymoron. since when is politics correct?

Why should a business profit from a holiday and, at the same time, ban their own employees from participating fully in the holiday and show disrespect for that holiday?

Right Mike,
Gas prices are back down around $2.00 here in San Antonio!
And about Target, give me a break people, they have the right to do what they want, trying to arrange a boycott is like saying you are going to boycott pizza hut because they arent putting anchovies on their pizza anymore (when its really as simple as simply getting your pizza somewhere else).
Go study up on basic economics. If a company makes a decision that affects their consumer base, the market will decide whether that decision is right or wrong for their bottom line. As a corporation, Target is interested in making profits. They are trying to appeal to the non-Christian constituency and they have every right to do so. If you don't like it, don't shop there. It's that simple, thats the way our country, or any free market for that matter, works.

Exactly Tradewinds and the people have the right to boycott whenever they feel their being wronged by a corporation who would not exist without our support. They'll change their tune after this holiday season i'll bet when their profits hit an all-time low.
America is still predominantly a Christian nation and people will always have to be reminded of that it seems. Remember the last election?

against boycotting too but if the people at target had a brain and they wanted to access non-christians, the first thing they would do instead of banning "merry christmas" would be:
1. find out the other religions
2. on the relevant religious festivals/occassions, acknowledge them by putting on the specials - after all, here in gold ocast, australia, target seems ot be on special every 3 weeks. why not disguise these "Specials" as an event to acknowledge other religions.
3. non-christians would be pleasantly surprised and hey presto! more customers!

True i'm definitely not supporting Target's strategy, just pointing out that boycotting is a childish idea. I mean come on there are plenty of better companies to boycott, like Mike pointed out.
Trade
idea: Why not boycot Merck? Murderer of thousands and suppressor of safe and effective medical treatments?
I guess that would make too much sense, lets boycott Target, who decided to stop selling pictures of Jesus.Last edited by Tradewinds; 21-11-2005 at 12:02 AM.

i'd lie to seee bush, his cronies and their future generations boycotted out of politics. that would be one boycott that's truly worthwhile.
