Christmas is 'Christmas' because of CHRIST!!! period.
if you don't like it... mind your manners and have respect for those who celebrate it... at the very least keep still.... I consider myself a quiet, open minded, fun loving person... but this whole concept of changing Christmas makes me.... tense (putting it mildly). It is totally absurd to remove the very reason the holiday began! and just one other quick observation.... if you don't live in America, don't insult us with your opinion of what it's like to be a citizen here.... and I will give you the same respect.
People are like stained glass windows: they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.
turn your lights on
Merry Christmas everyone... and peace on earth, goodwill to women, and men.

Yhlc,
I don't want to get mouse's thread thrown into the "Politics" forum; it will die a quick death there due to the fact it's all the way at the bottom of the main page.
I do agree with some of the things you say and disagree with others; no one is 100% one way or another. I try not to comment on other countries because I do not live there or know much about them except what I hear on the news, and I think you can agree with me, the news services serve themselves and their own interests; not the people. We do the best we can with what we have and our biggest problem is voter apathy. The voters turned over their best interests to the government back around WWII and never looked back. Their only now coming around and paying attention again; hopefully it's not too late.
So to save second mouse's thread, I won't respond to anymore politics in her thread. Feel free to PM me or we can start one in the Politics forum if you like. I enjoy a good debate and I see a worthy adversary in you. LOL

Looks like I got a decent thread going lol. I was just blowing off a bit of steam and I'm glad I did as it gives me a chance to hear other people's views on this issue.

Merrry Christmas
Christmas has always been something special to me ever since I was a child. It is an old tradition - very old tradition. And I wish to continue this tradition with my family for as long as I live. There is no reason for anyone to get offended - it is a joyful tradition. If you don't want to celebrate Christmas - then don't. But let us who love this old tradition keep on doing so.
If I go abroad I respect the religion in that country. I would never dream of critizing their way of celebrating their important traditions. I have always respected other peoples' traditions and way of living. And you can learn a lot from it too.
Therefore, I don't understand this discussion of not being allowed to use Merry Christmas any longer - but Happy Holidays of something else instead.
So folks
Merry Christmas
to you all.

hope you are not directing your at comments me. if so, then please have the courtesy to read my posts. you will note that i am all for christmas (and other religious and cultural festivals).in fact, i am for humanity.
i did not insult your country. from my point of view, countries are masses of land created by god for his creation (all - not just humans). i am against the polcies and actions of your governement. the people make the country and not the governement. as wiser stated earlier, the people handed over their country to ? after ww2. i think it was when teh federal reserve was created. either way, the public lost. the servants won.
i only support change when it benefits humanity. in this case, it divides people and i am strongly against it.thanks for taking the time to read and understand my posts.
my comments were to reinforce the importance of religious occasions and appreciate our differences. i made it quite clear that i dont take political sides. i only ask for people to identify injustice and speak out against it regardless of one's political, religious or racial persuasion. in this case, vilification of the christian faith. it's unfair and people of all races and religions should stand up against this and otehr injustices to humanity.
please don't drag me into politics. no corporation or bigot for that matter would be able to brainwash me. i think for myself (at least i try).

Merry Christmas to EVERYONE here...from Coast to Coast to Down under by their beautiful Coast they have over there too !!!
I feel an air of excitement when Christmas comes round whenever the year end is closing and what better way to bring a happy closure both for Christians and many other religious beliefs as well as those who don't or are not themselves, it is atime of celebration with those that see this occasion as one which invites many folks together in cheers and hugs and thats all I wish to have...rather than those who seeks all kinds of reasons than peace with each other around the globe!
Only you know what you are missing out and if you can't accept it like a true loser thats far from sportive, you go on the rampage to camouflage your misery and loss...all of your own doing as it normally boils down to.
Happy folks are found with the right attitude and respect given to their neighbours and with everyone they meet, those that don't, they are usually from a narrowed and broken background!
For my part, I wish EVERYONE here a Happy and Merry occasion in the coming Festive holidays which Christmas brings to most homes celebrating the birth of Christ.
So be cheerful and what better way to start a zappy end for 2005 by getting yopurself a $50 Christmas Gift with this Green Zapper & Go-4-GOLD Green Zapper and celebrate to a great year coming in 2006....go get a GOLD if you can and earn that $300 feasting with grand dinners and presents during this wonderful time of the year(hmmm, I'm thinking of the singer, Andy Williams )...
YB....cheers to ALL of you out there!
