(just kidding... I think)

The Intgold site was not 'raided' . The secret service and FBI are investigating last months major 'phising crimes' using e-gold & Intgold and others. (unfortunately I was one of the victims) The authorities were notified and invited by the various companies a MONTH ago and are now just getting round to it. There is no major US govt attack against e-currencies. People like off-shore wealth live in some form of delusional fantasy world most of the time. There are some concerns over the encroachment of 'patriot' type laws on the free flow of funds and off shore business etc...but these are just that... concerns. Most, continue to do business unabated. Governments do poke their noses in our affairs, but generally they're after Tax $ or the really bad guys, most, and that includes most on here are just not a focus at all. Too many drama queens....

Here is a statement from your buddy Bush'ie
Normally, no wiretapping is permitted in the US without a court warrant. But Bush said he approved the action without such orders "because it enables us to move faster and quicker. We've got to be fast on our feet".
"It is legal to do so. I swore to uphold the laws. Legal authority is derived from the constitution," he added.

Abudance & kevo some people may go a little far upon thier visualization of the situations but without some of these people watching, our govt. would continually take more power from the people that is not thiers! I don't remember what the acronym for the patriot act is but it is far from anything to do with patriotism, It just gave away more of the power the congressional & judicial branches had to the executive branch , so where is the checks & balances our founding fathers set up going to now well this is just another perspective to think upon

You have to be kidding, you honestly think the Secret Service would be involved if not based on suspected issue of terrorist money movement activities? FBI may get involved if wire fraud or interstate fraud was suspected, but Secret Service is another issue entriely, as in national security. Delusional fantasy, no, real world. We'll see who is delusional, but I will put my money on this being just the beginning to have them all shut down, mark my words, this is just the beginning.

From the site "goldnow".
Latest News
12/20/2005: INTGold status
Guys, I'm unable to get ahold of Mike Comer, CEO, of INTGold, to find out about the Friday night "raid" on INTGold, by the feds. As a result, I have disabled the ability to purchase INTGold at my site, until further notice. I will accept INTGold transfer requests for outexchange, but I will not complete those orders, unless we get a clear understanding about the status of INTGold, as a company, and am able to redeem those same efunds for cash or gold.
I knew that INTGold admin had requested authorities to check out the previously known fraudulent transfers into INTGold; what I *didn't* expect was those authorities to do a "raid" on INTGold. (But I should have realised that possibility)
This would be an appropriate time to remind ALL efund users, that GoldNow doesn't / cannot guarantee the longevity, success or failure of ANY efund providers. If we cannot redeem funds with a particular provider, we'll advise the owner of those efunds, as appropriate. We keep a close eye on ALL efund providers, and will provide timely warnings (as we get them) on any potential efund failures.
As an aside, many in the industry feel that gold backed currencies are safer than non gold backed, and I tended to disagree; however, if INTGold fails (for whatever reason; internal or external), I'll most likely start to lean strongly towards NON US based gold backed currencies, in future.
Stay tuned for further developments...
In my opinion..
Even though he will begin to look at NON-US based, gold backed E-currencies, I believe he is doing so just to be on the safe side. I think that when all is said and done, this will turn out to be an isolated incident. There is simply too much at stake when it comes to e-commerce for the FBI, Secret Service or any other organization to wage war against E-Currencies. To require standards..Maybe, but not just shut them down.Last edited by pogo; 24-12-2005 at 02:29 AM.
