Fellow Dinarians,
I have had the misfortune of killing my hard drive, this causes more problems with loss of financial information that is stored. I would strongly suggest to back up your files on disc so you are able to access your records if this happens to you. Now I must contact Mr I. and hope to get everything that was sent to them from me over the past 6 months. At present I am a little lost of what to write to Mr I. to ensure I get what I need. Any Suggestions would be appreciated, remembering that there are stocks invovled in this request.
Regards

Thanks Mate,
I wish I was more computer literate and really understood your advice. I will make enquiries into this and drop those buzz words that you used.
Thanks once again

Geek Squad
Billy,
I don't know what area of the country you are in, but I do know that our local Best Buy (NE Texas) has a Geek Squad area in the store. If you have problems doing this yourself, I would suggest getting someone to do it for you. If you do not have such a place in your area, I would think almost any local computer store could help you. You might try calling first to see if they might have a service such as this, but if you have a local Best Buy, I would suggest trying them first and asking about the Geek Squad...I know they have helped me with issues in the past.
Just a suggestion,
Patty

I remember when a hard drive was taking the ugly girl home from the pub.

Thanks to all
Thanks for all your advice to my problems with my hard drive. I was able to recoup all information that I needed from Mr Issa and the Al-Warka Bank. I feel alot safer now that my information about my accounts are safe again in my hot little Dinarian hungry hands.
Bring On June.
cheers

Suggestion (which is what I do):
Buy yourself a high capacity USB thumb drive. Keep all your "personal" files in a single folder on your thumb drive. Periodically, every couple of days, make a copy of that "personal" folder onto your PC's root drive (C:\) for back-up purposes. If your root drive goes bad, no biggie. Your up-to-date personal files are on your thumb drive anyways. The only risk is losing your thumb drive. Thus, you need to be very careful not to lose it.
Another option is to buy a USB external hard drive and use THAT instead of a thumb drive.
Bottom line, I personally do not trust my PC's root drive (C:\) to store my "up-to-date" personal files. Too many things can go wrong. Plus, I can carry my "thumb drive" with me everywhere and use any PC (home, work, elsewhere) to access my data.
