I had the great honor to meet Gerald Ford here in Colorado a few summers ago, and found him to be a very warm and gracious person, and his wife too. Happy Journey, Mr. Ford.

Hi Gang,

Wow, we are finally over the 10% mark at 1325 with todays auction. When the news came out about the CBI getting to the 1260 mark by the end of the year it got our blood pumping with the prospects of the 1260 turning into $1.26. This seemed to go along with other news that has been found.

Now someone correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I understand it, there is only one auction left in the year. In order to get to the 1260 mark the CBi would have to make a 65 point increase in the next auction.

Is this possible? Well it IS Iraq.... But is this likely? That would be the biggest rise so far. They are either going to do something radical in the next auction OR the 1260 mark is just more spin thrown out by the CBI again.

What are the thoughts as to how they might get to the 1260 by the first of the year or what it seems they might do instead?

Sorry although I like Peter Boyle alot he died on the 12th. James Brown was the 25th, while 26th was the day of President Ford's death.

So, I would say that Joseph Barbera of Hanna-Barbera cartoon fame is closer to the trifecta as he died on the 18th.

So, if we wanna get technical, the first trifecta would have been Boyle, Barbera, Brown, hmm three B's and all entertainers.

Anyone got a guess for the third? I would say Pinochet (ex-Chilean President, Dictator) is out as he was on the 10th, but what the hey maybe he is #1, and Ford was #2.

Iraqi gov't distributes 22 billion Iraqi dinars to victims of Saddam's

regime (with photos) BAGHDAD, Dec 27 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi government on Tuesday distributed 22 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately USD 16.6 million) in compensations to Iraqis who had their properties seized by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's regime.

In a special ceremony held on this occasion, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki said that the dictatorship was gone and would never come back to Iraq, asserting that the government was planning to compensate all victims of Saddam's regime.

Iraqi government official Ahmad Al-Barrak said there are 33 resolutions to compensate citizens who lost their properties due to the practices of Saddam's regime, noting that those who received compensations attended a special ceremony held in Baghdad that was patronized by Al-Maliki and major government officials.

Al-Barrak added that citizens expect the government to be just and compensate victims of Saddam's regime, noting that the concerned government authorities are carefully looking into each complaint to verify all documents and give people back their rights.

He noted that the violations of Saddam's regime are major and complicated, and there are thousands of citizens who demand their rights from the government and the government should at least compensate them for their properties if these properties cannot be returned to them.

The compensation ceremony coincides with an Iraqi court announcement to uphold the death sentence against Saddam Hussein, his half brother Barzan Al-Tikriti, and their aide Awwad Al-Bandar. (end) mhg.
