Then the totals do no good because as in todays auction they bought $15,345,000 worth of dinar. The $34,770,000 has nothing to do with dinar. So using the total of $50,115,000 will do no good at all in telling us how much dinar is being taken in by the CBI.

Default New oil reserve in northern Iraq

    Turkish Daily News
    Nov 22 2006

Taq Taq Operating Company (TTOPCO), a joint venture between Genel Enerji A.S., part of the Cukurova Group, and Addax Petroleum Corporation, has announced flow test results for the recently drilled TT-04 well in the Taq Taq area of northern Iraq

According to a press release, three reservoir intervals were tested separately and flowed at an aggregate rate of 29,790 barrels per day of light, 47 degrees API oil with low gas oil ratio. Evaluation of these flow test results is ongoing

The Taq Taq field is located in northern Iraq, some 60 kilometers northeast of Kirkuk, 85 kilometers northeast of Arbil and 120 northwest of Sulaimaniya

Commenting on the results, Dr. Ashti Hawrami, the minister of natural resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, said: "This is a great achievement and we look forward to establishing our initial export of oil from the Taq Taq field in 2007. Additionally, we will be utilizing some of the oil resources to satisfy the local requirement for the refined products and power needs." Commenting, Genel Enerji CEO Mehmet Sepil said: "For the first time, a privately owned Turkish oil company is developing a major oil field. We believe this project will make Genel Enerji a world class exploration and production company in the international petroleum industry." Addax Petroleum President and CEO Jean Claude Gandur noted, "As demonstrated by these test results, the production potential of Taq Taq is truly significant and highlights the underdeveloped potential of the region." The TT-04 well was drilled using a TTOPCO-owned drilling rig and located some 500 meters from the TT-01 well, the Taq Taq field discovery well drilled in 1978. TT-04 was spudded in mid-May and reached a total depth of 2,286 meters in early September

Genel Enerji A.S. is owned by the Turkish Cukurova Group, among Turkey's largest industrial and commercial conglomerates, with numerous investments ranging from automotive, telecommunications, media, textiles, energy, transportation and information technology sectors.

Addax Petroleum is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with a strategic focus on Africa and the Middle East. Addax Petroleum is one of the largest independent oil producers in West Africa and increased its crude oil production from an average of 8,800 barrels per day in 1998 to an average of approximately 91,500 barrels per day for the third quarter of 2006.

    Red face Chase Bank Hiccup

I don't know how valuable you all might find this bit of news, but I thought I'd share nonetheless. Here is my account of my experience at Chase Bank this afternoon (approximately 3:30PM EDT):

I walked into the branch, with the intention of purchasing 250K dinar. I went straight for the teller who had helped me before (time was limited, and I didn't want to wait the time while someone else had to learn the process themselves). I said 'Hello' to her, and then said I wanted to purchase some Iraqi Dinar. She immediately stated that they were no longer allowed to sell the dinar. Playing the stupid, "I don't know nothing" card (which really wasn't all that much of a stretch for me), I figured I'd just ask, "Why?" (on the uber-off-chance that she might know something... But didn't expect any earth-shattering information from her). Anyway, she said she had no idea, and then she suggested I hold on to the dinar that I had.

I was ready to leave, thinking, "Hey, if they're no longer selling, maybe something is definitely about to go down", when the teller said, "Well, let me double-check, but I don't expect anything to be different from yesterday, when another customer came in and asked to buy, and we found out we couldn't sell anymore". 'Lo and behold, she checked, and they were allowed to sell again. So I purchased my "Christmas Gifts" for my family, and walked out the door.

Now, the question that begs to be asked is: One single branch, same teller, one day about a month or so ago, I can buy all the Dinar I want. Yesterday, same teller tried to sell to another customer, and wasn't allowed to. Today, they're allowed to. What is with the flip-flopping at the same branch, with the same teller?

I don't know what this means, or if it means anything. Just thought it was noteworthy to share with all. And, if by chance, there's a user/guest out there who was in a Dayton, Ohio branch of Chase Bank yesterday, trying unsuccessfully to buy Dinar - Try it again... They're mysteriously selling it again.
Four years ago... no, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't.
