Like true politicians I don't believe they give two facks about their own people. They will r/v when it suits them and not those of their people. Their true colours were shown by awarding themselves 20 million dinar loans, nice to put their own needs first.....
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Not trying to be negitive but a movement from 1470 to 1469 is not what we are looking for and I think I speak for most of us

These rates are useless to post. Post when it is like 1 IQD=1.47

I am just wondering what 10,000 iqd will buy.

Itś worth about £3.50 in the UK, about the price of a Big Mac.

I do not know what you can buy for $6.68 in the US, probably about the same.

But what can you buy in Iraq ?

Many are saying itś not worth very much, but I wonder......

Itś said that many in Iraq are living on the equivilent of $1 a day,
so over $6 is like a weeks groceries.

If thatś true then even without a R/V, 10,000 iqd will be very welcome to most Iraqis.

Not to be negative BUT, itś just a thought........
I know that when my husband was stationed in Tikrit, Iraq recently that 1500 dinars would buy a loaf of bread....so 10,000 dinars not revalued isn't squat...

Smile What happened here this weekend??

I was able to stay away from this forum for a WHOLE WEEKEND! I know, hard to conceive, but I really did!

But.... It's Monday morning and the mood here is pretty somber.

Susie has changed her interests to something very interesting....

People are complaining there is "too much" information being posted....(Is that even possible?)

We need to keep our heads up! Keeping grinding away at the news sources, and look for the positives coming out of Iraq, both politically and economically.

It doesn't help anyone to keep asking "So, what date are we looking at for a reval?" because as far as I know, nobody truly knows that answer. And it is a question we ALL want the answer to.

Susie- You are the best! Keep up the good work and whatever made you change your siggy's, I hope you change them back!

Yea, we need to keep positive, we know it'll happen just not when. With all the good news coming out, every day is a day closer to our dreams. This is a rollercoaster of a ride that hasn't quite got to the end yet.

Talking Let's watch and be patient

I am hoping they post date these checks to a date in the future as SGS mentioned in a previous post. If they do, there is still hope of an RV before these checks can be used. If not, do they really care about their own people? I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the checks are post dated.

The Iraqi government has an opportunity within the next couple of days/week (by the end of Ramadan) to give their people hope for a better life and a reason to live. Let’s see what unfolds. After all, they have made some progress.

SGS, Please keep your style. It's who you are and why I like it.
