Yes, selling for a loss is a loss. The hope is that it gains value. Someone made money selling Dinar. I bought some, someone made money on me. It'll be a pittance if/when the value exceeds my cost.

and my news to you is if you buy for $980 and sell for $697 its a loss

looks like you need to shop around on that price. most dealers i know dont charge that much. no wonder you got a burr in your saddle.
