    Default Privacy Rights Act

    Interesting,

Been investigating offshore online banks which offer different options of currency investments like CD's as example, mutual funds in other than dollars for everyone who may want to exchange out their dinar more quickly than some of us, so once I get final details I will post them.

Happy New Year to All, Mike

I posted this yesturday but I cannot find it now,
maybe Captain Neno sunk it without trace ?

    So I'll ask again..............

I live in the UK and bought my Dinars from someone
who works in the Middle East, I have NO paperwork
    to support my purchases.

Will this matter when it comes time to exchange them,
I don't want to be accused of Money Laundering ?

Will I need to go to Iraq, Dubai, Saudi, Kuwait etc. to
    exchange them ?

Actually I would prefer to go Offshore for obvious reasons,
but I don't want to have major problems cashing in.

    Any advice is gratefully welcomed....

    Good question,

Technically, if you made purchase you should have some form of proof of payment, and that should be enough to establish your purchase. As to exchanging, you will be able to do this almost everywhere when the time comes, and in some areas of world, you can already exchange.

Technically you're right, however the purchase was quite informal and
no receipt was offered or requested, hence my problem.

I don't want to be exchanging small amounts all the time, I would
prefer to exchange a life changing amount ASAP ( after the R/V ).

I am with you here, with that Life Changing amount. But here in the US a reciept is needed for the Capital Gains Tax. If, can not provide on, I believe here it would be the max. Since you are in the UK, prehaps someone with the UK Knowledge to answer this. If Not, I would say consult you proper Tax people there. Good Luck.

    Interesting,

So in other words, you paid cash, no receipt or record of purchase at all?
In this case, you have no choice, exchange it out a little at a time is your only option as UK takes a huge bite, so better not to exchange large amounts all at once, and start traveling and exchange some on each trip.

Happy New Year to all, Mike

I'm wondering whether it will be possible to take it to the Middle East
and bank it there & get a current account + cash card ?

Possibly exchanging some into sterling, euro's or even dollars to bring
    back for my travels.
