Ok people excuse my rant but I'm tired of seeing the Monkey model everywhere so I'm going to show him why we're expecting big returns. First, if the dinar was valued at 31 cents after 10 years of sanctions when we went in this time, then why can't it repeg at .68 or higher now that most of the debt is forgiven? Second, they have stated that Iraq has sold more oil this year than anyother year in history and this is without all these big oil companies waiting to go in. Third, since everyone in the world wants what Iraq has (oil), then why can't Iraq just up and say that we can have it but not until we have a better dinar rate. How many countries would give them grief? Answer, NOT ONE!!!! Fourth, since they have already said that an higher exchange rate would only help the Iraqi's since their only export is oil so it is negliable, then I would think that the other countries would support it if it helped the Iraqi's rebuild cheaper. Munny, you can count beans until the cows come home and your still going to be scratching your head after this ends asking yourself " how did they do that ". If you want to know how just read Paynes Marshall Plan thread and I mean Study it and I guarantee you the Munkey model will change once again. OK, I'm done ranting. Sorry.

To me, the biggest question was always the big denoms. I want RV as anybody else, I want for it to happen 'yesterday' but I always ask myself, where are the small denoms? If reval happens, the country will need small denoms basically the same day. I know that some of you might say that they already might have it just somewhere hidden in the vaults of CBI :) And I agree that issuing small denoms before RV would be 'a give away' Can someone explain me how this would work once RV DOES happen?

Well wouldn't most people just go to the banks and change their money to smaller denoms once they know. Most shopkeepers will have a till float and would have to carry all denoms to give out change. I see people regularly picking up large amounts of change and that is a good way of getting the money out to the public.

So why would you expect the lower denoms to be issued at this time? The currency has to reeval to a point when they (small denoms) have a worth that is needed in the day-to day transactions in the economy. As the vaulation of the dinar moves upward, lower denoms will be neccesary. Think about it! This is not rocket science. Simply economics.

I never mentioned that small denoms should be available now. That's why I said it would be "a give away" that reval is coming. But I was asking how will it work. Because the country will nedd small denoms same day once RV occurs. Will they have them available during RV day?
