Keep in mind that this is an artificial rate; supply and demand does not govern the dinar currently. When it hits the world market, that is when true gains will be made. Iraq needs stability right now. Turning it loose on the forex before stability is achieved would only serve to further the choas right now.

Don't get me wrong. I am an investor also. However, Iraq is going to do what is best for Iraq, not us. A slow appreciation is the plan, and we are seeing it before our eyes. What is so wrong with being millionaires in 2 to 5 years?

I just get a kick out of those that post here, trying to decipher little clues, like differences in the CBI website and reading more into press releases than what is actually there. Don't get me wrong, the world (and this site) needs dreamers too. However, it needs realists also to keep things balanced. The Shotgun Susie's of the world keep things entertaining.
Anyway, this is just my opinion. I bought in for the long term, anyway. When Iraq is somewhat stable economically and security-wise, they may throw open the gates. But, until then, I'll take a 5 point movement a day. It wasn't too long ago that there was zero movement. There is no doubt that this investment will pay off, but I highly doubt overnight. If I am wrong, I will be happily suprised.
Why do you put someone else down to make your point. Susie has brought more to this forum than most people, she contributes a lot of time and energy finding information for the rest of us to read. Keep your cuts to yourself. If you have something to contribute, which hasn't been much, do it without a little dig on someone else. As you said this is a positive forum keep it that way. Neno why not ban this guy everyone is sick of this type of garbage.

Hello and welcome....All viewpoints are welcome here.

Along with other very damaging effects, with Iraq's rate of inflation, a slow and steady RV will absolutely kill what's left of their purchasing power...Major damage...Certainly not better off with that.

This investment is over 3 years old....So many of us are well within 2-5 years.

What makes your view "realist" and those with a different view "unrealist"?...I would really like to know what makes yours more credible. Unless Shabibi, Talabani or Maliki are calling you directly, you have no more than anyone else....Not a dig, I truly would like to know why your view is more credible.

First, thank you for posting. I do more lurking than posting myself as well, but all opinions (with some exceptions) help build this forum. But...

I must address what I see as falacies in your argument. I believe you are incorrect in assuming that we still have 2 to 5 years left to wait. Regardless of when you began your involvement in this investment, it is not a young venture. The dinar (and the investment opportunity) is 3 years old. Hardly an overnight success. In fact, we have already seen slow economic improvement during this entire time. So slow in fact, that it has not affected the value of the dinar, because the economic influence on the rate was controllable by the CBI auctions. A hypothetical revalue tonight could hardly be seen as an overnight success. It has been a slow and steady move toward success since the beginning.

The other contention I have is that of the more optimistic stance as being that of the "dreamers." That, though well intentioned, I'm sure, ignores the fact that much of our optimism stems from hard facts, and years of research and diligence on the part of our members. These are not wild guesses and hopes of fancy. Don't do an injustice to this investment by discounting these "rumors" as only that. They stem from the collective efforts of those that have pursued this investment as fastidiously as an market investor would pursue a wall street venture.

I wish you the best of luck with this investment, as I do for all those patient and dilligent enough to have held on this far. I believe the optimism will prevail.

Just settle down, cowboy-I'm not trying to rain on your dinar parade. I am just trying to add to the discussion.
Just keep it more professional and the personal jabs out and you will do just fine.

Central Bank of Iraq concluded many agreements with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and the Paris Club countries, which seeks to restore Aldenarlemkanth (THE DINAR) as it was in previous decades 3/13/2007

I wonder why the DDOS attack continues? Somebody must have a huge beef against ROL and the members. It really makes no sense.
