You can not go from 1290 IQD/1 USD to 1.29 USD/1 IQD by shifting the decimal.

1290 IQD/1USD = 0.00078 USD/1 IQD.

If you move the decimal three places you get:

0.78 USD/1 IQD = 1.29 IQD/1 USD

Once again, I am not saying that the dinar can not reval at 1.29 USD/1 IQD. I am just saying that it is impossible to do it by moving the decimal.

If you don't believe me, ask your math teacher.

Several have expressed the same idea, but, you are looking at it from the wrong point of view. The CBI doesn't change the value of U.S. currency, but they do have the authority to change the value of the Iraqi currency...so the decimal to be moved isn't on the USD side, but rather on the IQD side. This is my understanding of the idea of moving the decimal points three places, because using your "formula" would not give the Iraqi people's currency the position of "preferrence" nor would it give them the purchasing power that they are seeking. It has been shown here in this forum more than once that they would like to transact all business deals using their own currency...so, for what it's worth, that's my opinion.

another one of our friends when to chase bank on 4th avenue in Yuma Arizona yesterday the 31st of January 2007 to get some dinar because we told him the rate was dropping and he might want to gte some before its to late. so he called me from the bank to tell me that the rate is now 1150 vice the 1158 it was on the 30th of january. so I dont know about everyone else but i am getting excited with all the positive stuff happening. so can i get a woot..

Good Morning to our wonderful rolclub family. I missed Scottpayes reply today and see that Neno has removed it. I laid in bed last night after all the turmoil regarding Mrs. Ck's post IN THE RUMOR SECTION!!!!. I guess I have a hard time understanding how people can be so hateful and negative. We talk about the Iraqies fighting and we are doing it among ourselves over an investment which HOPEFULLY will come to fruitation. As I recall Mrs. Ck was begged to post what she had heard and then did post it in THE RUMOR SECTION. Rolclub members all have the option to read this info or ignore i. Why then are you(and you know who they are) cutting down Mrs. CK, SGS, NENO, Marek, etc? I was so excited after the post I called my wife on the cell and had her listen to the WOOT!!! I guess I just want to say THANK YOU to Mrs. CK, Gloribee, Neno, Marek, SGS, Wm Knowles, Socata and all the other researchers of the news because without you we would definitely be in the dark. My wife and I appreciate this forum and most of the great people who are on it but could do away with the naysayers and the cut throat crap. Thanks so much rolclub family!!! I do see what you are saying bultn. You need it to make sense and be logical and when you put the math to it, it just doesn't. I have a little of that in me too.

Maybe, just maybe, there are more factors in play than is obvious to us. I know that I am no economist and definitely not a mathmatician, so I am going on faith here.

And besides, 1nid=.77usd is not bad, not bad at all.

What excites me the most out of the info from CK's ceo is not just the value but the hope of a very, very near rv. The fact (and yes, I choose to consider the info fact at this point) that all of our strong ascertainments in the past have been right on! Darn them there delays!

Humor me here just a little and please try to not laugh at me too much, but what if...........

1290 nid = 1 usd

move the decimal and
1.29nid = 1usd which calculates into 1nid = .77usd

then to keep with "dinar to the dollar" theory (I'm confident this is not inline with what they mean by "dinar to dollar" instead of bashing me or pointing out my error, just give me a break and humor me)
1nid = .77usd they adopt the .77 for the dinar and .77nid = 1usd

which translates into 1 nid = 1.29 usd

Now, I know this is stretching it and does not make much sense (could be bordering ludicrous), but as you can see, I'm a little confused at the numbers myself and how such things work. BUT, I am going to believe that certain people know what they are talking about and simply trust. What's the worst that can happen? What's the best that can happen? I'll just believe and have a great day believing it is just around the corner.

Sorry but if you have

1 USD = 1290 dinar

and then you move the decimal point you have

1 USD = 1.290 dinar

or .77 USD = 1 dinar
