OK This was at a low of 1232 today (1-24) and now is at 1237 for tomorrow (1-25). Since I have followed this market it has always been 60 pips lower then the CBI auction, now if following this is correct the next auction should either be 1292 or 1297 I opt for the 1292

Well, we are just a tick away from 4 trillion dinars removed from circulation since Oct 1st. Not considering any monies removed before then, we could easily be at or past 5 trillion. We moved 33 points so far this month, at this rate we should be at 1260 by the middle of February. Of course only time will tell, and the big cahoona will be the finalization of the HCL. Every day I read all the posts and look at the CBI rates. As the rate reduction has become somewhat routine, the HCL crabs my attention now more than ever. So many things seem to be hanging by a thread. Thanks to all who post so much information, if it weren't for this job that I go to every day, I could spend more time in the research mode. Just kidding, I like my work, but I'ld like to be able to work on things I have a passion for instead of what I have to do to make a living. I believe it will be soon, very soon; so with that, here are today's numbers.


1. A 3 point change in the dinar today. Was 1295, now 1292

2. A (net) worth of dinars, IQD - 118,230,920,000 pulled out of circulation today, 1/25/07

3. 14 banks participating today

4. 69th auction since the beginning of CBI's reval plan

5. 117 days into the CBI's reval plan.

6. 3,998,667,000,000 dinars pulled from circulation !!

7. 12,900,000,000 Dinars back into circulation today !!

8. 185 dinar change since Oct 1st (baseline was 1477) 12.525% increase in value of the dinar since beginning of reval plan (Approximatly Oct 1st).

9. 8 point reduction in the rate so far this week. Was at 1300 at the end of last week, 1292 this week.

10. 33 point drop so far in the month of Jan. Ended at 1325 in Dec, now stands at 1292
