The impression Mrs A got was they did not want to sell her the dinar and wanted to give her a refund which she refused, next day like magic the dinars they couldn't get, 'magically' appeared. Now if the banks know of a pending currency moving onto the world markets or a possible increase for that currency yes, they would of course hold as much as possible and even stop selling it like Darock has mentioned in the case of Chase.
Yes Steve, this will end up with us on the beach. I have high opes of getting out for the cricket World Cup in the Caribbean. The final is 28 April. I hope to be out there a week or 2 before. The facts and information going around point to an imminent reval.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Hope you're not hoping England will be in the final, they'll be watching it from the pub if some of the reports are to be believed.

Some have tried Halifax and Barclays this morning, both reporting dinar in stock. But the fact is if Travelex run out then so will the banks at some point.
As for England, yea, no chance of even the semi finals! Just going for some decent cricket, sun, cold beer and some rest after this long adventure that's aged me considerably! LOL.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Update
Well, I don't know what to think, something is afoot!
I have just called Travelex and been informed by a very helpful lady that my order was processed at 10.30 this morning and will be at the Halifax on Monday. Phew!!!
I mentioned that others had tried to order Dinars and been told that they were not available. Her reply was that they do have 25Ks but, yesterday, they didn't have 10Ks. She received an email at 10.53am today to say that they now have 10ks.
She suggested that anyone who wants to order should, before going to their bank, contact the orderline who will be able to inform them if the dinars are available or not.
Now, I called Stevethebrit and suggested he do just that. The outcome was that he was told that there weren't any available (the same as last time he called). When he mentioned that I had just been told that they were available, the person suddenly found an email saying that they had 10Ks. Steve has now put in an order, which should be in the Halifax by Tuesday. Wonder what denominations he'll get?
I don't know what is going on but something's not right. Do they know there is going to be a reval and are keeping the dinars for themselves?
Something that makes you go........Hmmmmmmm.
If anyone is being given the runaround I suggest you call again and insist they check their facts. For the Halifax call 0845 246 0006..option 1 is the orderline.
I need a lie down....this too much for a senior citizen!!!! On second thoughts, maybe I'll have a stiff drink instead...far more enjoyable!
