I believe the last article I saw stated that 80% of the debt had been cancelled, but we have also seen other numbers. Takers?

I believe their forgiving muslim brothers in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are still holdouts on debt forgiveness. The infidels have forgiven the debt.

At least they are still meeting.

Iraqi parliament meets on Tuesday

Baghdad, Apr 10, (VOI) – The Iraqi parliament held its 12th session on Tuesday in Baghdad to debate several issues on its agenda.
The session will debate the Education Committee's request on the Teachers' Day and the printing of school textbooks.
The session will also witness the first reading of a draft law on a children's rights agreement and the second reading of another draft on the ministry of municipalities and public works.

I'll take a shot...

It looks like they agreed to cancel the debt ( 80%), but only verbally...or there are agreements that need to be signed at the ICI meeting on May 3rd. The ICI iin May is the beginning if actually implementing all this talk.

I remember a few articles coming from the GOI complaining about this...

A referendum on a Kurdish Kirkuk "to participate in the political process

Sulaymaniyah (Iraq) (AFP) - A high-level Iraqi Kurdish Tuesday that the application of article of the constitution provides for a referendum on Kirkuk is a "prerequisite" for the continued participation in the political process.

He said Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih told journalists that "everyone should know that the implementation of Article 140 and raising the historic injustice caused to Kirkuk and other regions is a basic condition for our alliance of Kurdistan (53 representatives), the political process and the formation of the government."

Exchange rate for Dinar up in Baghdad!

I just received this e-mail from one of my customers. Mark is a Brit who is presently over in Baghdad. Thought you guys would be interested in seeing this. He would be referrring to April 9th in the e-mail.

Just to give you very quick update on the current exchange rate. Have changed some more Dinar today, works out at 123000k to $100, so another positive jump. However to counter that, local shops are raising all the prices of their goods to counter.




And how are these poor people meant to buy anything if prices are going up?
