s_cotton, i respectfully disagree... this Iraq war was lost long before the first bombs started falling...reval or no reval...I sure hope everyone is ready 'cause I think the sh*t is fixing to hit the fan. Tet '68 Vietnam comes readily to mind... Four plus years of time have given the Iraqi time to figured out our strategy to the point that they are able now to penetrate our defenses,( The Green Zone ) maybe even at will, that we don't know for sure any more but we do know this can't be good.... This is not for them to necessarily do the same things the same way again but more so to reinforce what they think they know, to add to their confidence level.... They are getting stronger by the day and the fact is, time, is SO on their side.... We cannot win a gorilla war, especially in the middle east where we have no real friends.... None who we could count on when the chips are down. All our ties in the region are only as strong as the strength of the power and money that they are based on. And those BTW are two of the things the Iraqi are fighting against in the first place... so its not to our advantage over them to have our power or our money. They don't want either at this point in time. They just want our a$$es out, and now.... The Iraqi's also know they can't have any semblance of peace or sovereignty as long as they are occupied no matter who the occupier's are..... So in the end we will have nothing to show except for a lot of sadness and a lot of dead people, theirs and our, how sad......
Oh I know the perpetrators will and have stolen everything they could get their grubby hands on but there was somethings that they just couldn't take away from the Iraqi, their pride nor their right and will to self govern....
makes one wonder what the real reasons were, although I think we all know the answer..........
