well tiff baby, i was thinkin we wouldnt see a revalue until after the meeting or during it possibly on the 3rd/4th, BUT, after the articles today im starting to lean toward next week myself. the article earlier with maliki talkin about the different groups meeting in egypt read extremely positive toward reconciliation among all. with that in mind, and the oil law passed possibly next week by parliament, and the debt quite possibly eliminated by kuwait next week (i think they will come to an agreement with russia and im not so sure that wasnt another smoke screen also), i would say we are sailing into port directly.

I agree and not that it would ever happen but Bush can always play the Congress card about halting funding and withdrawing troops. No I do not believe the Kurds wield that much control over this. I think it's a smokescreen. Too much going on as you say. I'd be awfully surprised if it was more than that. The Kurds have the most to lose without US support because they have gained the most with it.It seems that the state insists, or preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar 148 against the dollar ...Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states [ MOF Sept 2006]

Here's a little more info on the Iraq Oil Law. I've only posted a few paragraphs. The link will take you to the full article.
He said that all political blocs in parliament had agreed to try to pass the law before the end of May, but the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) said on Wednesday it would not sign up to some aspects of the law.
Ashti Hawrami, minister of natural resources in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq told Reuters that annexes to the draft oil law that aim to wrest oilfields from regional governments and place them in the hands of a newly formed state-oil company were unconstitutional.
"The annexes as they are written now will not be accepted by the KRG," Hawrami said. "If I don't get the lion's share of fields (in the region) then it's a bad law. If the law dilutes regional control then it is unconstitutional."
Shahristani said the draft law would be presented in a bundle that would include the oil and gas law, a law outlining the functions of the ministry of oil, another for Iraq National Oil Company and a fourth for oil revenue management.

Tiffy, I didn't make that statement to rattle Your world. I just am so tired of waiting , myself. It seems to me we have been this close before, and some one somewhere decides to throw a wrench into the gears. I want it too Happen last week, but I can't find myself getting to hype up over it. Nor anticipateing too much. Let It come about and I will WHOOT My "Donkey" OFF.

Just don't ever mention the "donkey" word with Iraqis... it is VERY derogatory as opposed to a piglet... with the latter, BBQ can still be a tasty end... but not with donkeys...
