A member of the parliament and the decision of the Commission on redrafting the constitution Abbas Bayati, the Committee amended today, Wednesday, several paragraphs belonging to the second section on civil rights and freedoms.
Bayati added in a statement to the News Agency (Voices of Iraq) Independent "Commission met today, headed by Dr. Iyad al-Samarra'i, Second Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and discussed articles of the Constitution
( 14) until the article (46) of Part II on the freedoms and rights. "
He explained that he had been discussing "working paper submitted by the group backing Constitutional Affairs of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, and private freedoms and civil rights ... It was built a number of items of paper work and amending others, while keeping some of the articles of the Constitution as it is ... For compatibility with the current Iraqi reality. " Bayati pointed out that discussions on the door of rights and freedoms "will take a full week of debate, the Commission will discuss with the rest of the constitutional articles after that."
The Committee consists of the Constitutional (29) members representing the entire spectrum of Iraq, formed in the month of November November last year to amend some items of the current Constitution.
