I remember...when they were hoping to be on GO last fall. In December, a group went for training on the electronic equipment for 30 days. A group also went for training 30 days in February, 2007. Equipment came into Iraq this Spring which had defects and needed to be replaced. The FIL was passed but the delay was implemented. Possibly because of the electronics and the RV.

Bottom line...we are close...the ISX will be great...(even Vietnam had the most successful bourse in the world last year)... Mr. Shabibi the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq thinks a high RV will help bring money into the banking sector....Just imagine...a high Rv will mean funds put into the banks...when one of their goals is to promote banking....

When was this announcement though? Surely, that type of news with a specific timeline would've found it's way in one of the Iraqi papers. You would think there would be some excited reporters out there.

Another question, and please don't take this the wrong way, but......why would someone become a member of a dinar forum if they didn't believe in it?

The announcement per an Iraqi (whom works directly with my husbands team) was approximately 1 week before my husband came home from Iraq which was March 26, 2007. Supposedly on Iraqi television. I asked my husband the same question regarding it being on their tv and not ours. I can only tell you what this iraqi has said and my husband feels that he has no reason to lie. Dont worry about insulting me regarding my not believing in the dinar. Im trying to get educated and have had so much instilled upon me growing up time and time again regarding the saying......If its too good to be true it usually is. I find these threads very interesting and would love to see this dinar rv. Im not going to sit here and say you all are a bunch of fools because i dont believe that one bit. I see my husband and I hear what my husband says and I support him 100%. He believes in this dinar. I just dont understand it and thats why i say Im getting educated by reading these threads. I find it very interesting and I honestly dont see how it couldn't rv.

Went to the Haji shop the other day to pick up an Anniversary gift for my wife. They sell old Saddam ERA currency and other cool Iraqi gadgets. I asked the clerk if I could buy the New Iraqi Dinar, and he was quick to say NO! Now the guys over here before me had no problem getting NID through the Clerks here. Not sure what the why, but if you read a post before I wrote a similiar question about the exchange rate and the clerk quickly asked his fellow Iraqi and he quicly mentioned the CBI and that days rate. What this all means to me is their mindset and processes have obviously changed. NOT having a black market currency rate or ability to buy it in the same place you can buy knock off jewerly, purses and watches is a bit fishy. Good news for us though. I have to agree with all other on the fact that we are closer then we think.

Thank you for your thoughts. That is what this place is truly about. People being to express their views without the bashing taking place. I for one am in the other boat, after reading all the articles and hearing the news that has come out the past year, I can see how it could and most of all why it must.

I would agree that if its too good to be true it usually is... on this side of the pond, but over in Iraq this is a chance at a life not just an existence.

Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce advanced steps on the road to activate the role of the private sector in the reconstruction of Iraq within the framework of its attempt to take Iraqi traders role in the economic variables required in the country
