When the rate is changed it will be pegged against the dollar so it can not float up or down but only be adjusted +- 4%...Isn't that correct???

So, if the come in at a low rate they are more or less stuck there without re-applying to the IMF and repeating this whole process over again....

Why hasn't anyone mentioned that???

They can r/v their currency and allow it to float instead of doing a hard peg.

It looks like (hope i hope) those ideas did get blown out of the water, the article about the investment law mentions the banking sector too! Ok, trying to stay grounded, somebody tie my feet down or sumpin

currently it is pegged against the dollar. i am still under the impression that they will indeed peg to the euro as the dinar has moved consistantly against the euro during the inner-bank trading for the last year.

My point was against slow growth and a larger, initial RV as to readjust a pegged rate is time consuming and hard to do...as we have seen going into this RV...

So (IMO) that rate will come in high...maybe at the Chase rate that they initially offered Neno last week (remember .26 or $3.82/Dinar)

The only way slow growth works is to remain outside the IMF and/or introduce the new rate as a float...
