I forget what article needs to be passed to lift the restrictions i believe its article IV..not sure though....but i do know as of now it is labled as a fully convertable currency....I will go and find a link that says so. you are correct, it is convertible, but it is not in full market status thereby not being fully convertible as i understand it. yes they will move past article IV and into article VIII before being traded on the forex.

Resend Resolution 1637 and sign article VIII and trade thier curency internationally.
What is this resolution 1637 about??? Also they were supposed to pass this article VIII back in october...right??? Are they still discussing this. thanks...also just to let you know susie i sound like a pain in the A#s at times and be a negative nelly . Its just frustating.I dont mean any harm in some of my posts i just like to debate things.

It could be that they want to stay under Article IV with restriction so that Creditor Countries will not sue them for payment of their debts. After the Debt Forgiveness Agreements are signed, they can go to an Article VIII Agreement with the IMF...
