disclaimer.......SN dont' open the chocolates! LOL

Chocolate contains substances called Phenylethylamine and Seratonin, both of which (put simply), are mood lifting agents found naturally in the human brain. They are released into the nervous system by the brain when we are happy and when we are experiencing feelings of love, passion or lust. This causes rapid mood change, a rise in blood pressure and increasing heart rate, inducing those feelings of well being, bordering on euphoria usually associated with being in love.

Eating chocolate also releases Phenylethylamine and Seratonin into the system producing those same euphoric effects, plus it can give a substantial energy boost thus increasing stamina (at the critical moment?), so it's probably these effects which gave rise to chocolates reputation as an aphrodisiac.

Recent research suggests that women are more susceptible to the effects of Phenylethylamine and Seratonin than men, although Casanova is said to have consumed chocolate before frolicking with his conquests, but there's no mention of him actually sharing it with them.

I was speaking on a skype phone with my husband today and he says that they should let the kurds run Iraq. He has been working in Iraq for the past 4-5 years now. He has worked mostly in the baghdad area. He now works up in the area where the kurds are and he is absolutely shocked as to how much of a difference it is in the kurdish area. He says you almost forget your in Iraq. He walked into a department store and was absolutely amazed how the kurds live. He says the floors were all marble and everything was priced according to the american dollar. He was shocked. He said he bought a bottle of milk and gave an american dollar and said he got back a 250 dinar note and a couple of dinar coins. he says their houses are all build out of cinder blocks and then rocked all on the front. He says that is a big difference when some of the Iraqis live in mud huts. He is absolutely amazed at how well the kurds live and how beautiful it is on that side of Iraq and then the other side is trying to kill each other. I WAS CURIOUS AS TO WHY EVERYTHING IN THE DEPARTMENT STORE WOULD BE PRICED IN AMERICAN DOLLARS. Anyone know???

interesting. (did that post get moved here from somewhere else? seems like i saw it earlier...

I also think it's amazing how differently the Kurds are living vs. the rest of Iraq. wonder how they are doing it with the same currency at the present rate?
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said: “ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Maybe because it's the country that they are in? I know that when I go to Canada, if I pay with USD I still get CAD back as change...Just my thoughts anyhoo! They do things a little 'different' over there...who knows?

Thats quite a simple answer actually.

When a dominating currency, such as is the US Dollar is being a fluid currency for most trade and is also recognized as the easiest to manage with most currencies of the world, and it is the favorite , when a choice is given among the street dealers especially... thats where the preference lies in.... US Dollars!!

But giving away their own Iraqi currency is also an indication of how little they want to retain theirs and prefer the Dollars for a thousand and one reasons esp. when Iraqi at this stage in their upheavals and volatile uncertainties, trading at all possible levels from rubber slippers to a bottle of after shave.. these goods can be obtained elsewhere but only with preferred dollars... so, they have their reasons for ridding off their own in exchange for Dollars.

If you insist on Dollars, you might not get what you see before you because you are in their country... its a "take it or leave it" policy as well... they might not immediately realized the rise in value of their own Dinars but for the moment, as they live a day by day survival... WHO CARES about the rise...what they care about is getting something to eat or drink or somewhere worthy they can live with and the Dollars will achieve it...

So will the Dinars but you got to stash & prop your butts full with Dinars of little value as you walk about the streets of Baghdad...

I could find out. I will talk to him tomorrow morning and ask. He was curious as to why everything in the department store was priced in american dollars. he said the department store even had a second floor going up the escalator. He was really amazed as to how great the kurds live. He says its so nice where the kurds are that you wouldnt even think that you were in Iraq.
