I remember ( and not too fondly) having to wash my jeans in the tub and dry my socks in the oven. The oven would turn them a kinda pucky yellow color. Didn't own a iron and one day my favorite teacher asked me if I slept in my clothes the nite before. He wasn't my favorite anymore. Now I own a $40 iron that is wonderful. Still don't iron much though. Go figure.

Hey just wandering as I dream -
anyone know about living on a houseboat?
or anything about houseboats?
can I just live on one? what responsibility would I have to sit at the marina and live there?
I thought maybe I would do that as there is no RI taxes to buy or maintain a boat just the registration fee.
thanks, Laura

Nothing wrong with that!
You might have to pay a docking fee or something like that. I had a friend (died many years ago) that had a houseboat I use to use quite often. It was pretty cool. Had a kitchen, bath, slept 6 folks inside. In the summer you could lay out and sleep on top. If it was cold out, it had a door inside that allowed us to open it and fish through the bottom. Pretty neat setup.

houseboat?
Thanks Rondo ---
Wow, fish from inside I never knew that...that's pretty cool...Bass Stripers for dinner.
I could go for that.
Docking fee. Yes, I know...lots of money here in RI. and hard to find a slip.
RI, the Ocean state, is the smallest state in the nation and everyone wants a boat....too many people here!!!
Maybe I should go someplace else? BUT I am afraid of water snakes we just have eels...
