I have a screened in back porch and I leave the door open for my akitas (show dogs) the flies love the dang dog food. I use this product called Bayer (its in a blue bottle) pour it into a sprayer and hook it up the the water hose and spray. I cannot believe all the flies it killed. Days later and flies are still dropping dead. I love this product.

Okay, I am bringing up old news again, but I finally bought those fly traps that someone told me about! (have to admit, they seem to work....but doubt they will be featured in the next Pottery Barn's outdoor edition)

Okay, so here's the problem....I have two German Shephards. One is a retired police officer he worked in the drug department, the other I just had trained to kill anyone I find slightly unattractive (don't worry ladies, won't be bringing her to the Cayman's...would hate to start a massacre) Anyway....my drug dog won't go anywhere near the back porch where the fly traps are!?!?!

Any dog people out there that could offer a solution I would be deeply appreciative!!

Hey M2M, it was me..Yes, they do work and whaddya mean they won't make the next Pottary Barn's Outdoor Edition? Isn't a bag full of buzzing flies an attractive ensemble piece to any backyard decor? Sheesh! There are 2 possibilities for drugdoggie's reluctance to breach the perimeter of said bag o' flies: 1.)His superkeen auditory sense is hearing all those flies scream things like, "Help me" or, "Tell my wife I love her!" and it's bothering him, or 2.) His highly sophisticated sense of smell is completely grossed out by whatever it is they put in that bag that the flies find so irresistable. Too bad the Dog Whisperer doesn't have an 800 number to find out what to do for Fido. My guess is that you'll have to wait this one out til the fly population at your house is decimated. Take the pooches out to a local Dairy Queen and get them a small vanilla cone. This is what we do for our dog every now and then, and even though it probably won't help with the bag o' flies situation, you will reaffirm to your pooches why you are their A-1 alpha Mom...

hmmmmm, drug dog afraid of fly strip, so basically i can wrap my drugz up in fly strip and walk right into your house, the other dog won't attack cause i'm beautimus........wow i can burgle easily!
