I don't agree, Iraq doesn't have long to keep going the way it currently is. I have always felt a strong and prosperous economy will help improve security which will add momentum to a vibrant economy improving security even more creating a continual uptrend. I also think they are starting to get the message the world does not have indefinite patience and the day will come when various govts say enough is enough for continued financial support and aid they will have to play ball. And a personal hunch I believe there is a plan to try to use Iraq as a show piece for the rest of the middle east highlighting the benefits of a moderate democratic govt.

therefore, the banks wont be open on monday but the forex will be trading. and the cbi opens on sunday BEFORE the forex opens. will we see something before it hits the forex? i dont know, but i do say its hittin the forex!!

I know the dinar will RV and hopefully soon, but I am not optimistic for this weekend or next week. I applaud your enthusiam Susie and hope it works out for us all. Actually i was hopin that the dong would RV first so i could buy more dinar, but I will take either one. Just somebody do somethin please!

P.S. Personally i am mentally preparing myself for an article tellin us that they have postponed the ISX again for another couple of weeks. Just seems to be the Iraqi modus operandi.

Barzani said he and Talabani had discussed the latest draft law by telephone with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

“We reached a final agreement,” Barzani said. “We accept the draft.”

Delay in adopting deal
There was no comment on the announcement from Khalilzad or Talabani, and Barzani did not elaborate. It was unclear whether new concessions had to be made to win his approval.

Al-Maliki’s government had promised to enact a new oil law by the end of 2006 but missed the deadline due to objections from the Kurds, who wanted a greater role in awarding contracts and administering the revenues.

The Cabinet discussed the draft Thursday but failed to agree. Once the Cabinet signs off, the measure goes to parliament for final approval once the legislators return from a recess early next month.
