It never fails to amaze me how people expect a rumor to be fact. Most rumors are not true whether heard at ROLCLUB about the dinar, about someone in your company, etc. Most rumors are based loosely on fact, but the facts are typically distorted before the truth actually turns to rumor.

RR stated 3rd hand news. Now consider the many avenues for distortion along the way. If RR were lying about hearing the rumor, and I had evidence to show that to be true, I'd rake him over the coals. But I don't believe this to be the case. My impression is that RR is sincere and is as hopeful as the rest of us that the rumor he heard is true. All of you who want to indite the rumor posters, please read the following:

ru·mor /ˈrumər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[roo-mer] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
    –noun
    1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts: a rumor of war.
    2. gossip; hearsay: Don't listen to rumor.
    3. Archaic. a continuous, confused noise; clamor; din.
    –verb (used with object)
    4. to circulate, report, or assert by a rumor: It is rumored that the king is dead.

Now read this several times, thinking deeply about it as you take in the words. If you are still ucnlear, I will repeat it one more time. A rumor is:
a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts

So I say RR and everyone else gets as many chances to post rumors as they want unless it is proven that they are manufacturing the rumors.

I don't dislike you frathousemicrowave more or less than any other forum member. In fact, your skepticism is healthy. But your conclusion that others are BSing just because their rumors don't come to fruition is not fair to the member sharing info. By the definition of rumor, "Don't listen," so the expectation should be that all rumors are wrong, with dreams that some of the juicy ones might come true.

You are free to assume anything you like. That doesn't make it true. If you like the rumors as much as the rest of us, why are you trashing them? As far as how many chances they get, I would say until someone gets it right, then we won't have a need for more. But that is just my assumption.

It really amazes me the number of defeatists there are in this world we all live in.
The simple fact is, it is never over until it is over and as long as the rumors fly there is always hope for a better world.

If all the people of Iraq had a defeatist attitude, they would all do one of two things:
    1. They would kill each other off.
    2. They would all just give up and quit.

Unlike the majority of the world, I am from the old school where you never stop, you never quit until you can do no more.

That being said, it also amazes me that most people will do nothing to work for their future other than through the JOB and Job dependency. It is no wonder here in the United States only 1% retire after 40 years Rich and 4% retire wealthy enough to enjoy it.

There are 29% who dye for what ever reason or cause, but the majority; 66% end up totally dependent on government, family, friends, church and local welfare programs.

Speculation is a good thing as long as that is not all that is in one's basket, but not to participate is the reason the majority of people in the world spend a life time working only to find out they did nothing but spin their wheels.

Of course we had a president that said it best, "It has been my observation that people are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be" Abraham Lincoln.

So, why do we have those who believe in nothing in this world?

To give those of us who do believe reason to prove a point.

That point is, defeatists and those who do not participate are the ones who lose in life, unless they just happen to be at the right place at the right time and that is pure luck that only happens to a select few.

Four years is not a long time to wait to see something happen. Rome was not built in a day and Iraq will not move ahead until a few building blocks are in place to make things happen.

At this time, we will see the world change.

You are so right. I have no information on the dinar other than what I read, but I could easily see many of the prior rumors to have been based on some semblance of truth. The situation in Iraq has been dynamic to say the least, and many expected benchmarks have slipped, so why not ad currency valuation to the list.

On the other hand the rumors may have been based totally on speculation. Do I care...NO. I'm optimistic about the dinar with or without rumor.
