Demand for dollar up, exchange rate down in daily auction

Baghdad, Jun 13, (VOI) - Demand for the dollar was up in the Iraqi Central Bank’s daily auction on Wednesday, reaching $ 80.220 million compared with $57.140 million on Tuesday, while the exchange rate went down one tick.
In its daily statement the bank said it had covered all bids, including $10.910 million in cash and $69.310 million in foreign transfers, at an exchange rate of 1,258 dinars per dollar, one tick lower than yesterday.
None of the 17 banks that participated in Wednesday's auction offered to sell dollars.
Ali al-Yasseri, a trader, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI), "The decline in the exchange rate encouraged traders to make higher bids in foreign transfers in today's session, bringing up the overall size of transactions."
The Iraqi Central Bank runs a daily auction from Sunday to ThursdayJULY STILL AINT NO LIE!!!

Baghdad and Washington-d. B. A, a. Q. B-new Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki government's determination to continue its efforts to achieve national reconciliation 'de****e regional interventions and plots that are hampering the political process'.

The Prime Minister went on 'tasks ahead of us including the development of our security and our armed forces to play their role in addressing national Qaeda terrorist organization, and Sadamien, militias and extending the authority of law in the whole country'.
He said al-Maliki 'government of national unity had succeeded in eliminating the greatest danger of sectarian war through the initiative of national reconciliation, which has the support of all components of the people and political forces', praising' support of the United States in supporting the political process and reconstruction, rebuilding '.
For his part, Negroponte reiterated the position of the American administration backing of the people and the Iraqi government 'in the face of challenges and external interventions to enable it to achieve security and stability and provide better services for the Iraqi people'.
American warning on oil
The Maliki met Negroponte beginning in November 2006 when he was still president of the American intelligence agencies.
