the articles are right, the survey crews are right, the pictures from space were right, iraq is loaded with oil and natural gas. in fact, afloat. we had to know this back when we heard stories from boots on the ground that when roadside bombs went off the holes would fill with oil. when the soldiers drilled for water they hit oil 99X out of 100 at as shallow as 10 ft. oil isnt going down in price, we know this also due to increasing demand. larger oil deposits = fulfilling higher demand = higher prices = more profit for oil investors = us. were in the money is an understatement!

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose on Thursday as a gain of more than $1 a barrel in oil prices boosted shares of energy companies, including Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research), offsetting disappointment over profit reports from Bear Stearns (BSC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Goldman Sachs (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
Exxon's stock led the major advancers in both the Dow and the S&P 500 as U.S. crude for July delivery (CLN7: Quote, Profile, Research) rose $1.44, or 2.2 percent, to $67.70 a barrel on fresh supply concerns.
Investors also drew support from a government report that showed the core reading in the May U.S. Producer Price Index, minus food and energy costs, was in line with expectations.TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT....IF NOT....THEN TOMORROW NIGHT...OR MAYBE THE NIGHT AFTER

Iraqi security situation is complex, days of coups are over -deputy PM
National - Voices of Iraq
Friday , 15 /06 /2007 Time 11:08:35
Riyadh, Jun 14, (VOI) – The Iraqi security situation has become complex and a significant security challenge is looming on the horizon," Iraq's Kurdish Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh said in an interview with the Jidda-based Saudi al-Madina newspaper on the sidelines of his visit to Iran.
"In addition to supporters of Saddam and takfir (accusing someone of unbelief), who work together to undermine the political and democratic process in Iraq, there are terrorist forces coming from outside Iraq who are seeking to destabilize security in the country. We have no option but to boost national unity among the Iraqi people in an attempt to face this wave of terrorism and extremism," Saleh said during the interview, which was published on Thursday.
In response to reports alleging attempts to overthrow Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government, Saleh admitted that there were plans to form anti-government fronts. "There has been a meeting in Cairo from which we received a document signed by several parties who want to form a political front. The Kurdistan Alliance examined the situation and rejected the request because some of the convening parties are known for their hatred of the Kurdish people and their opposition to the democratic process in Iraq," Saleh said.
"The days of military coups in Iraq have gone. It is true that we are facing big problems, but the new Iraqi army rests on foundations that make it impossible for a coup d'étate to take place," Saleh added.
When asked about the Iraqi government's stance on U.S.-Iranian dialogue, Saleh indicated that his government encouraged Iran, which he said is an important neighbor of Iraq and influential country in the region, to engage in dialogue with the United States. "We promote understanding between Iran, Arab countries, Turkey and the United States, which supports stability in Iraq. We do not want Iraq to turn into a field for regional and international conflict. We therefore call on neighboring countries, the United States and Europe to support the Iraqi political process," Saleh indicated.
On May 28, 2007, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker met with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Kazemi Qomi in Baghdad to discuss ways of tackling the violence in Iraq.
On the recent arrest of Iranian diplomats in Arbil for acts of sabotage in Iraq, Saleh said, "We have discussed the issue with the Iranian foreign minister. The Iraqi government is earnestly working for their release and is constantly contacting the U.S. forces on this issue."
The U.S. troops arrested five Iranians at the Iranian consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil on January 9, 2007 for their alleged involvement in terrorist operations and acts of sabotage that had taken place in Iraq. The five arrested people were described as "diplomats" by the Iranian government, but the U.S. forces said they were employees from the consulate.
Leading a large Iraqi delegation, Saleh paid a visit to Iran this week to discuss economic, political and security issues with Iranian officials. The delegation included Iraqi National Security Advisor Muwafaq al-Rubaie, electricity minister Kareem Waheed, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abd Ziyab al-Ujaili, National Security Minister Shirwan al-Waili, head of the presidency office Nasser al-Ani, the ministers of planning and electricity in Iraq's Kurdistan region, al-Najaf governor Asaad Abu Kalal, in addition to a number of officials from the ministries of finance and foreign affairs.JULY STILL AINT NO LIE!!!

Given the woeful track record and Maliki and co., there is very little likelihood of them meeting any deadlines. The US and Bush in particular can make a huge cry about it but if the other party isn't willing to return serve, one could expect very little activity. These chaps are ******* at not meeting deadlines and their internal wranglings will ensure that there will be further delays. jmo

Dollar holding strong aginst Iraqi Dinar
Stop Fundamentalism,Thursday June 14 - Iraqi Dinar was sold at 1258 per Dollar Wednesday at Iraq’s Central Bank Auction. This is three Dinars lower than mid last month’s prices.
The demand for dollar has increased since earlier this month causing the rise in its value against Dinar.
The exchange rate of the Iraqi Dinar rose significantly at the expense of Dollar, last year and earlier this year.
Daily auctions by the Iraq’s Central Bank are part of a policy to maintain stability of Iraqi Dinar exchange rate and to prevent its uneven prices compared to other currencies, as well as reducing the inflation.
Meanwhile, the General Assembly of the Iraqi Bank has approved a move of 20 billion Iraqi Dinars from accumulated surplus and development reserves into bank’s capital. This will increase the capital from 31 to 51 billion Iraqi Dinars.
Observers welcomed the increase as significant considering the overall situation in the Iraqi banking sector and the current security difficulties.
Also another breakthrough is the revelation that 45 countries have agreed to write off Iraqi debt totaling $140 billion, Iraq’s Minister of Finance told reporters early June.
In the write off, Saudi Arabia came in first forgiving %80 of its claims
