Yeh thanks for the unsolicited suggestion but I'd rather leave such hallowed positions for someone allegedly as funny as you...hang on a minute, even a funeral director is funnier than your lame attempts to derail this topic with an attempt at humour.

Hi Abbey...I said Mumbai, which happens to be in India the last time I checked! Remember, he was renowned for his not so politically correct humour...well, I think it was Channel 4, sent him to Mumbai for a gig. He elicited as much response as a politician's manifesto. Yes, I'm aware he died recently and was one of the very few who wrote his own obituary. Talk about preparation eh?!

Dinar Cha Ching and breakeven, let's keep this personal something between you two out of the thread. Thank you.

I feel bad for you because clearly "currency analyst" is beyond your capability. There's another profession off the list.

Whoa!! wait a minute I didn't see the obvious.

Your currency analysis IS your comedy routine!

Sorry, I thought this was for "trashing it out" as the first post stated. Just having fun I have nothing personal against BE

I too believe there are two sides to this investment. Like most I am hoping for a quick RV, but it does seem to good to be true.
I think what raises peoples blood pressure when they here slow grow is that their currant financial situation requires an overnight RV thus making them lash out at anyone who even mentions slow grow.
I would love to see this thread go off track of it's intended reason that it was posted and turn into some good dialog, without sarcasm, that could shed some light on the slow grow theory. I have yet to find one economist that supports an overnight RV.
Thanks Hummerman. Let's see if others well-versed with the economic side of things chip in with their thoughts.

    Cool Question....

USD and of course I know the reason why…

As said before, NOT THIS TIME!

Perhaps the use of the term "RV" is not appropriate to what happened to the Kuwaiti Dinar.

A revaluation of a nations currency is vastly different than what happened in Kuwait during the first gulf war.

Comparisons between the current Iraq situation and the phenomenon that occured in Kuwait are simply inappropriate. Unless of course you consider it to be a wonderful tool to help sell Iraqi Dinar. Dealers love to use the comparison. Unfortunately for them there is no written proof to back up their claims.

You are the first to state a "high water mark" of $8.00. I think your tail got pulled. Perhaps that's the real reason behind the vanishing act?

Regardless. The Iraqi Dinar will eventually pay off....

And another thought Breakeven.... You can safely change your handle to "BrokeEven". If you bought in at 1470 like most of us here, 1260 is the breakeven point if you were to sell right now. That is of course after the spread is taken at the place of sale.

    Have a great day everybody.

    Sorry you missed my point.

    It's not "Potato, Patato".....

It's apples to oranges. Vastly different.

To say things like "Those of us who learned from the Kuwaiti lesson..." makes me wonder what you mean?

What was the Kuwaiti lesson? I should have been in Kuwait when it was invaded so I could participate in a currency fallout? Hardly.

Sorry, but I simply do not believe your story of the $8.00 "Spike". You do not have to provide proof and I do not have to believe it. You believe what you want to believe and I'll leave it at that.

I do, however, share your enthusiasm about the future of the Iraqi Dinar.

    Thank you.

I had a look at the history of KWD against USD over a period of 2 years after the Kuwaiti invasion. The link is href="FXHistory - Historical Currency Exchange Rates. The highest it went was 3.43.
