"The Iraq Commission" is a series of programmes which have been televised in the UK over the past 2 weeks.

WHAT IS THE IRAQ COMMISSION?

"Britain stands at a crossroads. With a change of Government leadership this summer, there is a unique opportunity to examine the future of our commitment in Iraq.

The Foreign Policy Centre (FPC), in partnership with Channel 4, has facilitated a UK Iraq Commission – the British equivalent of the US Iraq Study Group.

The Iraq Commission is an independent, cross-party Commission that will produce recommendations on the future of Britain's role in Iraq.

It is jointly Chaired by Lord Ashdown of Norton-sub-Hamdon, Baroness Jay of Paddington and Lord King of Bridgwater. The Chairs will be supported by nine Commissioners.

The Commission will examine all possible options for Britain's future role in Iraq and will consider evidence from a wide range of viewpoints. The Final Report will be delivered to the incoming Prime Minister and the leaders of the main political parties."

I have found this programme very enlightening and interesting. Good to hear so many different perspectives of the situation in Iraq.

For those in the UK there are only a couple of programmes left to be aired ( I only found out about it recently, there have been 7 prgrammes aired so far) but anyone can watch the complete footage online by going to:

The Iraq Commission

Unlike the televised version, there is a pause at the beginning of each interview whilst they do a mic check etc. Only lasts about 30 seconds or so.

As well as the main list of hearings, be sure to click on:

"Watch taped interviews with Iraqi politicians presented by Jon Snow."

Amongst others, the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Barham Salih, has his say.

Each hearing is 2 hours long, so come prepared!!!!!!!!
