Demand for the dollar drops in daily auction
Demand for the dollar was down in the Central Bank of Iraq's (CBI) auction on Wednesday, registering at $123.550 million compared to $151.920 million on Tuesday.
"The demand hit $47.875 million in cash and $75.765 million in foreign transfers outside the country, all covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,189 Iraqi dinars per dollar, same as yesterday," according to the central bank's daily bulletin, which was received by Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI).
None of the 17 banks that participated in the auction offered to sell dollars, it noted.
The Iraqi Central Bank runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday.

(Islamic) threatens to withdraw from negotiations if not result in a "consensual solution" to the crisis of electoral law

Speaker Meets Members of Committee for Drafting Constitution

Kurds Invited to Conference for Banning Chemical Weapons in Japan
Representatives of the Kurdish-Japanese Friendship Association and Rebaz Foundation along with the mayor of Halabja arrived in Japan upon an official invitation from that country.
The delegates are expected to attend a conference for banning chemical weapons due to be held in Hiroshima city.

Barzani Meets Senior Kurdish Officials in Erbil
Kurdistan Region President, Massoud Barzani, met today with the senior Kurdish officials including KRG prime minister, speaker of Kurdistan National Assembly, and Iraqi deputy prime minister in Erbil.
In addition to the Kurdistan region local issues, the pending issues between Baghdad and Erbil were the key topics of the meeting.
Separately, Massoud Barzani met with the representatives of the Kurdish political parties. He briefed them on the outcomes of his recent visit to Baghdad. During the meeting he said that Kurdish leadership made several choices for the Kirkuk issue such as: if elections are held in other provinces, they should be held in Kirkuk too. He also reaffirmed upholding all articles of the Iraqi constitution including article 140.
He denied if the Kurdish leadership called for delaying the provincial elections since the Kurdish leadership agreed with the UN recent proposal.
Massoud Barzani said that three points were reiterated during his meetings with the Baghdad officials- commitment to the constitution, partnership and consensus.

Electoral Commission likened the provincial council elections next year
