In an interview published in the journal "Middle East" ... Barzani threatened to annex Kirkuk if the repeal of article 140 of the Constitution

Threatened President of Iraqi Kurdistan Massoud Barzani to accept the invitation of the governorate of Kirkuk city to annex the territory as if the repeal of article 140 of Iraqi constitution regarding the normalization of the situation in the city and conduct a referendum to determine its future accession to Kurdistan.

Barzani said in an interview published in the journal "Middle East" of London today, Saturday, "This constitution, approved by the majority of Iraqi people, which determines the rights and duties, and we in the Kurdistan region are committed to the articles of the Constitution strictly, we are not asking for more, which gives us the Constitution, including Article 140 , The obligation to the Constitution is Guarantee to maintain the unity of Iraq, and guarantee to stabilize the security and stability in Iraq, build a prosperous future for Iraqis, then the Constitution is the rule and not be bound by it means we are waiting for a catastrophe. "

He went on to say "with deep regret that we still seem under the influence of the totalitarian regime, and who will take power imagine that the commands and prohibitions, and the right to take decisions without reference to others, forgetting to forget alliances and commitments and forget the Constitution."

And on the independence of the territory of Kurdistan, Barzani said "independence natural right, but it must be reasonable in the circumstances, appropriate and achievable, we reserve the right, and we consider this a natural right, not a crime to demand the right start, Iraq and all of us Iraqis, there are Kurds in Baghdad, Basra and Mosul , And there are Arabs in Irbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, Irbil for all Iraqis as Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, Basra, Baghdad and Najaf, I find it odd that trend Chauvinist, if we do not consider Iraqis tell us that, frankly, we will not accept to be treated as a second-class Iraqis, we must be equal in rights and duties , We have equal duties and equal rights for us, and not let them enough courage and announce that we are non-Iraqis, and to announce when it will reply to us, not one of Yemen on Iraqis, we are in this country before they have it now claims that Iraqis are more than us, we do not We accept this one-upmanship. "

It is in the best interests of all sides to re-establish stability in the area and to solve the tensions according to the principles of the Iraqi constitution,” Salih said.

The issues of Kirkuk and other disintegrated areas from Kurdistan region, Iraqi oil and gas draft law, the issue of sharing power in Iraq are key issues not only for Kurds, but also for all the other components of the Iraqi people .I hope that by restoring to the articles of the Iraqi constitution those issues would be settled.
