British general: Democracy "established" in Iraq
The commander of British forces in Iraq, General John Cooper, that democracy is now entrenched in Iraq and the al Qaeda often fell on the ground.

Central sales rise to 118 million dollars in the canteen

The Bulletin that "the distribution of demand for the dollar by 50 million and 885 thousand dollars in cash, covered by the bank at the exchange rate was 1176 dinars per dollar, including the central bank and a commission of six dinars per dollar."
According to the bulletin, "the value of remittances outside the country reached 67 million and 485 thousand dollars, covered the central exchange rate was 1173 dinars, including the central bank and a commission of three dinars per dollar," did not make any of the 13 banks participating in the auction, offers to sell the dollar.

Central Bank: the lack of non-oil revenues in the public budget deficit
Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, on Monday, the inadequacy of non-oil revenues to government domestic spending is the budget deficit in public finances, noting that oil resources to cover the deficit has no economic sense only to the extent of foreign currency sales to the private sector.
The Abrihi Ahmed Ali told (Voices of Iraq) that "the inadequacy of non-oil revenues to government domestic spending is the budget deficit in public finances, to cover the deficit of oil resources does not have as much economic sense, but sales of foreign currency for the private sector, with the exception that is the inability of the sense of flour for the expansion of cash-funded. "
He added that "no difference" between the financing shortfall of income of non-oil sales to the foreign currency the central bank, or borrow it as long as there are reserves of the bank to respond to the request of the private sector in foreign currency. "

Iraq: Parliamentary committees meet over 2009 budget
The parliamentary financial and economic committees held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the final report on the 2009 federal budget before submitting it to the Parliament, according to a parliamentary media source.
The source did not mention further details.
Iraq's 2009 federal budget, totaling $62 billion U.S. dollars, is based on an oil price of $50 a barrel.

Report of the Finance Committee put an end to the general budget of the vote today
A member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives Sami Atrushi that the Committee had concluded, on Tuesday, and its report will be presented during the Council meeting today to vote on Iraq's budget for fiscal 2009.
The Attorney-Atrushi of the European Islamic Kordestani told (I am Iraq) "The Finance Committee completed its report and will be presented at today's meeting to vote on the budget, the budget contains a reduction from six to seven trillion Iraqi dinars, equivalent to 10%."
He added, "These reductions will not affect the salaries of staff and a network of social protection and pensions."
The House of Representatives completed the second reading of the draft federal budget law for 2009 at its regular meeting on (2-24), which completed the first reading of the budget at its regular meeting on (2-18).
It is noted that the federal budget for Iraq for 2009 has not been approved so far, amounting to 62 billion dollars (the dollar equivalent of 1170 dinars) was calculated on the basis of $ 50 per barrel price of oil.
The fiscal balance returned to the Council of Ministers (15/1/2009) to the demands of the presidency and the Ministry of Finance to increase the budget because it is not the prerogative of the House of Representatives to increase the budget.

Of Baghdad Bahrain calls for companies to invest in Iraq
Baghdad, called on Secretary Saber al-Issawi, on Tuesday, the Bahraini companies to invest in Iraq through the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Parliament held its vote on the budget for 2009
The Iraqi Council of Representatives, Tuesday, of its 48 regular-Sheikh, headed by first deputy, Khaled al-Attiya to vote on the budget law to the Federal Assembly in 2009.

Iraq court acquits defendant Tarek Aziz
Iraqi High Criminal Court acquitted former Iraqi deputy Prime Minister Tarek Aziz in the case of Friday prayer incidents while it gave former Defense Minister Ali Hassan Al Majid another death sentence. Aziz was acquitted for proving no evidence against him while Ali Hassan Al Majid was given a third death sentence. Mahmoud Mohammed and Aziz Saleh Din were also subject to a death sentence.
Badie’ Aref, the attorney of Tarek Aziz, said he was comfortable with the court’s decision and called to release Aziz as soon as possible. He noted that Tarek Aziz is known to be a diplomatic man who serves Iraq as he is renowned on the international scale and does not interfere in Iraq’s security affairs.
Citizens following up the process of court viewed the court’s decision regarding Aziz as fair.
The Criminal Tribunal gave as well life imprisonment sentences to Ali Mohammed Zemam Abdul Razzaq, FORMER President Saddam Hussein’s secretary Abed Hamoud and Jassem Mohammed Hajem. It also acquitted Sayf Din Mahmoud Ahmad, Aqla Abed Saqr and Ibrahim Saheb while it sentenced Mohammed Jaseb Ghulam and Jibar Hadhoud Jawad for 15 years of imprisonment and Ziad Qays Jasem for six years in jail.
Tarek Aziz was in trial with 15 other aids from the former regime for implication in the killing of tens of late leader Mohammed Sadeq Al Sadr’s supporters in 1999.
