Streamline procedures for granting of ration card of the competencies of returning to Iraq

Commerce Minister: We called for the Doha Conference in the States for investment research firms in Iraq

Rehabilitation of four oil wells in southern Iraq

Canceling contracts with Kurdistan Government enables firms to make future bids
The Iraqi minister of oil on Thursday said that the termination of oil contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will enable companies to bid for future contracts in Iraq.
“Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani received the Korean ambassador to Iraq, Ha Taeen, and discussed with him means of boosting bilateral relations,” according to a ministerial statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The conclusion of such contracts violates the Iraqi constitution and law,” the minister explained.
“That was why two Korean companies were deprived from bidding for future contracts. It they cancel their contracts (with the region), they will be allowed to make bids in the next stage,” the minister added.

Demand for the dollar drops to $140m
Demand for the dollar fell in the Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) auction on Thursday, reaching $140,017 million compared to $197.205 million in the previous session.
“The demand hit $23.690 million in cash, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,176 Iraqi dinars, and $116.327 million in foreign transfers outside the country, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
None of the 15 banks that participated in today’s session offered to sell dollars.

Al-Maliki to visit Russia, France, Britain this month - MP
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will head for Russia, France and Britain this month in a tour aims to discuss Iraq’s investment and economic issues, a member of the Unified Iraqi Alliance (UIA) said on Thursday.
“The premier will visit Russia in mid-April to discuss different economic and investment issues and the Russian companies’ investments in the Iraqi oil field,” Sami al-Askari told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The second round will be late April and will be in France in response to an invitation from President Nicola Sarkozy,” he added.
“The prime minister will then make for Britain to attend a conference on the investment in Iraq and will be accompanies by a delegation from the investment commission,” the lawmaker said.

Three Russian firms to invest in Iraq
Three Russian firms have joined a growing list of oil companies committed to investment and planning expansion in the Iraqi oil and gas market.
“The list is comprised of 39 oil companies from all over the world,” according to an Oil Ministry statement that was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The list has been thoroughly checked before contracts are concluded, the statement added.
