karinc,
Don't worry, the dinar will be incorporated into the new currency. Look at it this way, once the dinar is convertible you'll go along to the bank and pay it in, they'll exchange them for dollars, euros etc, job done, you can walk away smiling and a lot wealthier!!.
If, and it is a huge IF that nothing has happened by 2010, extremely unlikely, in fact I'd give odds of a miilion to 1 on that, but if it did happen this way then you'd still be able to trade your dinar in for the new unified single currency, as will other Middle Eastern countries that have their own currency currently.
Hang on in there, the telling sign will be when it's released on the Forex, and hence put onto the world markets, at that point we'll be almost at the bottom of the hill. ;0)

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Yes...one seat taken up, the next hurdle...to RUN the country...like a WILD GOOSE chase....with Dinars....naturally...
We have to see... just hope those "cartoon caricatures" don't start a crazy initiative there too... ...yup, let it blind away those fretty rights of some to disrespect other cultures & values.

Interesting,
Finally, the votes are counted without issue, and it appears everyone is happy with their increased percentages of power. The Kurds are the most experienced faction, and I was happy to see them increase their power as they are the most experienced in running a region, and the value of dinar will be their main interest when they meet for the first time, so this is good news for sure.
Looks like our winning lotto ticket scenario drawing has just been moved up a bit sooner than anyone expected, including me. (g) I always said the revalue will probably happen sooner than PIPS, now it looks like it will be sooner than the now stalled HALOTTO. (g) Kind of ironic isn't it?
Good luck to all, Mike

Looks like it at this particular bank, but hey, banks screw us every day, right?
Why would you even think of offloading your dinar at the moment? Remember once it's a 'world currency' the banks will be itching to exchange our dinar for dollars, why? Because of the huge market they will make. Even if the dinar revalues to say .10 this doesn't mean the banks will give you this rate, most probably .09. We've known for years the banks are thieves, they say they have to make money, fair enough but they still 'do' the little person out there day in day out.
Bottom line is, when the dinar revalues it would pay to shop around and get the best rate possible. I'll be marching in with my double figure millions in a case, feet on the table, big fat cigar, (don't even smoke, lol) will see the Manager personally and see his squirm to give me his best rate. If it's no good, it'll be off to another bank. ;0)Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

When I then asked if they expect to in the near future, she again seemed unsure of what to say and then said that maybe they will sometime. I wonder if since that post in whatever forum it was first posted in they've had a deluge of calls and are backing off if indeed they were actually offering the dinar for litle while....????
