You've made a good point. Does anyone have an answer to this? It sure seems to be a lot of dinars let alone us cash. If I remember next years budget was quoted some where around 39 billion usd. This seems to be an awful large amount of dinars to give away at the current rate let alone a r/v'd rate.

Can anyone explain this?

What to believe right now. Just a few days ago we were all in a tizzy about the 20 mil dinar "loan" to the members of the gov't....then the statement was retracted. I agree, it does seem like quite a lot of dinar if they are planning a revalue of their currency. (IF it's true....)

Has it been specified if it is for each individual rather than each family, which would normally be the case for such hand-outs? If it's per family, the overall amount would be closer to 100 billion dinars perhaps or even less.

A bill to authorize the Cabinet and the distribution of residential land classified change

The Cabinet decided at its regular meeting on the 28th of last month to pass legislation authorizing the Council of Ministers following powers :

· The allocation and distribution of land in all parts of Iraq to eligible state employees and other segments of society.
· Construction of housing units and distributed to employees and citizens at reasonable prices.
· Change to the type of land (residential) in the event of non-availability of spare land detachment for distribution to state employees and citizens, as permitted by the basic designs of cities and provide services.
