"Why does everyone think an RV goes hand-in-hand with the FIL being signed/implemented? The argument is that without an RV, Iraq can be bought out for pennies. A person who I personally know, who has a VERY strong background in economics, says that Iraq can be protected with verbage in the FIL, and an RV ins't necessary. It's called economic protectionism. I have a feeling there are gonna be lots of disapointed folks when an RV doesn't happen when (if) the FIL is signed this week."

Maybe someone clued up could answer this one perhaps?
We'll I'll say this, I'm not in any way educated on this information, but I do know that Iraq cannot continue to keep functioning at the rate the dinar is now, NO country would of invested in them if they didn't believe that there was coming a RV, So with a background in econmics maybe he can explain how iraq will keep functioning at the rate the dinar is now.

Thanks for the response. But isn't economic protectionism what China practises to great effect? It doesn't seem to have impeded their progress on the global front. Please bear in mind that I am just looking for answers to help my understanding and am not trying to put a dampener on events and hopes!

Yes, quite. But surely the argument that a country could be bought out for pennies is baseless considering laws within the country will have restricitions on foreign investment.

Thanks so far to those who have responded.
