This is though:
It won't be too surprising if they find oil in Tawke, where generations have watched oil seep out on the surrounding hills and turn to a slick black film in the gnawing winter cold. Sitting cross-legged on his living-room carpet over a lunch of mutton, village chief Tahir Ezeer Omar remembers that when he was 10, a German visitor told his grandfather that the oil in the hills "was like gold, that it would someday create wealth for us." The locals were unimpressed. "All we knew is that the sheep and cows kept getting stuck in the stuff," Omar says.
Have to love the part about the sheep and cows getting stuck.

Good sign of things calming down again.
BAGHDAD — At least 10 people were killed and 47 injured Sunday when mortar shells rained down on a largely Shiite area in southern Baghdad, but after days of widespread violence the country appeared to draw back from all-out sectarian conflict.
Throughout Iraq, passions aroused by Wednesday's bombing of an important Shiite Muslim shrine in Samarra and reprisals against Sunni Muslim clerics and houses of worship appeared to have subsided considerably. Curfews and a ban on vehicle traffic were lifted in several mixed Sunni-Shiite provinces but continued in the capital, where children took over empty streets to play soccer.

Hey guys,
Anyone bought dinars from Compass Bank? If so can you call them and ask them if they're continuing to sell them please. Just read on a forum that someone called Compass and was told that it's the last day they're selling them as the rate is changing. All they knew.
Can we check this please someone? Probably nonsense, but you never know!Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
