Sounds like a standard political response to me. Provide truthful info about potential scams and at the same time avoid giving any info that may convey an opinion. Period.

I don't normally get carried away with news, fact or rumours or a combination of the three but the latest news on the FIL meant that I placed an order for 1/2 million dinars from my local Halifax branch. Hope I don't regret it!

The preparations for the International Decade with Iraq held its second meeting in Baghdad



Baghdad-October 10, 2006 - The Preparatory Committee for the International Decade with Iraq in the 09 October 2006 the second meeting at the level of working groups at the headquarters of the United Nations to help Iraq in Baghdad. The meeting was chaired by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Barham Salih and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ashraf Qazi. Participated in the meeting a high-level delegation from the Iraqi government, including the Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning and the Deputy Foreign Minister The Iraqi Vice President's advisors and consultants in the Iraqi prime minister and the official spokesman for the Iraqi government In addition to representatives of Member States in the preparations for the International Decade with Iraq (the European Commission and United States of America, the United Kingdom, Italy, South Korea, Germany, France and Japan). The meeting was also attended by representatives of the video Konfrence presidency of the European Union, the World Bank and the United Nations headquarters in New York and the Arab Fund and the Islamic Development Bank.



The meeting discussed the progress made so far and the next steps to ensure the success of the International Decade with Iraq. These include steps in addition to other steps to expand and to review the preliminary draft of the International Decade with Iraq in order to reflect comments by Iraqi officials and donor countries. The outcome of the meetings would be submitted to the preparatory committee at the next meeting to be held in Baghdad on October 19, 2006.

no, thats euriqd pair. that means it would take that many dinar to equal a euro so its not that high YET.

Investment law offers investors promising prospects in Iraq

Baghdad, Oct 10, (VOI) – The new investment law, passed by the Iraqi parliament on Tuesday, is expected to offer foreign investors promising investment opportunities in Iraq.
The 36 articles Act gives a foreign investor a right to enjoy a ten-year-exemption of taxes from the date the project was implemented.
“National Investment Commission” will be set up with jurisdiction to grant investment licenses within 45 days of an investment request submitted to the commission.
Regions sub-commissions can be set up to license projects with less than $ 150 dollars capital that should be licensed exclusively by the Iraqi council of ministers.
The investment law authorizes the National Investment Commission to set up secure free trade zones under an Iraqi cabinet approval.
A foreign investor has a right to register at stock exchange market, rent land necessary for the project or resort to an unpaid rental of land plot for an extendable period of 50 years.
The law also gives an investor a right to make insurance of the project, initiate bank account, in Iraqi dinar and U.S. dollar, and have residence in Iraq.
The investor may import free tax equipment to the project in a period that not exceeding three years after a license was granted.
Tourist projects, hospitals, and educational institutions are given a right to a free tax imports of furniture once per four years.
The investment law also stipulates for a mechanism to settle disputes on investment projects.

Hi thanks for the info just to make sure I understand this right and didnt miss anything. They have officially announced the FIL but there was no mention of RV or Dinar?
