1. What is the ISX?

The ISX is the new Iraq Stock Exchange, replacing the old Baghdad Stock Exchange of the pre-war era. It was established by Coalition Provisional Authority order 74 ^ [mirror] Adobe .pdf document - Acrobat Reader required on April 19, 2004 and opened on June 24, 2004. It is located in Baghdad and is currently open to all Iraqi citizens. The Iraq Stock Exchange goes by the common moniker of ISX, and it has been modelled largely after Western-style exchanges.

2. What days is the ISX active?

Currently, the ISX trades twice weekly:
* Mondays, 10AM - 12:30PM;
* Wednesdays, 10AM - 12:30PM, both Baghdad local time (current Baghdad time: 12:15pm, 10/11/2006).

That was from yesterday. 10-10-06 It is still that way. 10-11-06 hasn't posted yet.

Nop, just my opinion.

But if the ISX isn't open today then there must be something going on.

They only trade twice a week, why closing one trading session, then a big press conference tommorrow.

I don't think I can make it much longer, I have been up since 3:30 this morning and I am dragging, I think I am going to have to leave to you folks to watch.

the auction isnt even posted until 11:30am their time and you usually dont see it until about 11:45am and sometimes not until almost midnight. dont get your panties in a wad, youre not going to exchange it this weekend anyway. i believe the article on the fil enactment stated 4 days which would be a saturday.
