    Greetings,

Yes, it has been quiet officially speaking, and this I think is good news in the case of dinar. We know something is going on, but it is unusally quiet on issues as everyone is holding their breath over the desperate last ditch efforts of Al Qaida with mosque bombings. It is overblown in the news, contrary to what contacts in Bagdad report, but there are small isolated bombing, but not on the large scale as it looks on TV. The gas station one was an example, it was a small bomb well placed near gas station which caused a few cars to burn, but only a few deaths and injuries, so hopefully the peace is restored for it is delaying cabinet meeting, but it will not postpone it. Guess we all have to hold our breath a little longer, but in this case, silence is golden in my opinion.

    Good luck to all, Mike

The news that never gets reported.

U.S. troops say seize 61 al Qaeda in Iraq members

    March 02, 2006 12:01:16 (ET)

BAGHDAD, March 2 (Reuters) - U.S. military operations in the province of Anbar, west of Baghdad, have resulted in the capture of 61 members of al Qaeda in Iraq, Major General Rick Lynch, a U.S. military spokesman, said on Thursday.

Bomb making equipment, weapons and munitions were seized in the raids on the training and bomb making facility in an area 50 km (30 miles) northeast of Falluja, Lynch said.

Some of al Qaeda in Iraq's "critical facilitators" were included in the 61 people captured, he said.

    Iraqi guards kill pipeline saboteur

    March 02, 2006 11:24:10 (ET)

BAGHDAD, March 2 (Reuters) - Guards with Iraq's oil protection service killed one man and detained three others as they were trying to plant bombs under a pipeline west of Kerbala, south of Baghdad, security sources said on Thursday.

"They were planting bombs under the pipeline when the force saw them, they got engaged in a gunbattle, then the force captured three and killed one," a source from the Oil Ministry's oil protection force told Reuters.

Industry officials said the pipeline carries crude from the Kirkuk oilfields in the north to Basra in the south.

"In ordinary circumstances this pipeline works as a back-up pipeline for oil exports from Basra but since Baiji (refinery in the north) is not working, then blowing it up will not make any difference," one official said.

On Tuesday, security forces arrested several guards responsible for protecting the country's vital oil pipelines on suspicion of aiding a rebel campaign to destroy the network.

mike any word on the gov. meeting. the news said the priminaster stoped a meeting on the bases that sum didnt agry with him. is this the meeting we are whating for

They killed the latest Al Qaida ring leader who was behind the mosque bombings, and now caught most of the recent bombers, so I suspect it will calm down a bit and cabinet meeting rescheduled in the coming weeks, but it will depend on peaceful accord, which with a major bomb making factory captured, hopefully this will clear the way for meeting.

    Good luck to all, Mike

Hey everyone! So far there have been several people posting numerous links to information regarding the Iraqi Dinar. A friend of mine pointed out a link to me which has some info regarding all this 'hyped' up Dinar investment. Don't get me wrong, I went out and purchased Dinar anway because it's exactly that, an investment. I will either win, lose, or come out even. Anyhow, here's the link. Was wondering if anyone can give their 'opinion' on the following link. http://www.xe.com/iqd.htm

    Thanks all and Cheers!

Is this the 4th or 5th time this has been posted? I give up.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Funny,

Yes, this is opinion is over a year old, and anything older than a week is outdated with the fast moving events in Iraq. If you are going to research Iraqi dinar, make sure you put tdays date before doing a search as this is the only relevent information.

    Good luck to all, Mike
