And the third aspect is economic development. That includes wise reconstruction efforts, creation of a central bank, a sound currency, small businesses.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Default Iraqi Inestments

    Good find Adam,

Everyone should read this article as it is one of the very few which speak the truth about where we are in Iraq, and it is a far cry from what it was under Saddam. Anyone who knows people in Iraq will know this, but you would never hear it on major media, and read the last paragraph which says it all.

    <
To summarize what the Iraq veterans said on March 9: We do "know jack" about Coalition progress in Iraq — and we know it the same way that we know other trends in social science — by hard numbers where they are available, cross-checked against the attitudes of those most directly affected by those numbers. "If Iraqis listened to American media," said Lt. Indyk, "they'd hear that their economy is wrecked and that their services are in shambles. They'd hear that they are less safe now than before the war, and that they are religious fanatics who demand a theocracy. But they don't get their news on Iraq through the Western media. They live there. And they say the opposite."

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Interesting,

Here is the main reason for wanting to be involved with Iraqi Investments for we will be able to access the exchange once it is computerized through our original affiliation with Free-Dinar.com, so for those who have not registered as distributors, do so now as it is FREE at this point in time as we are preparing for phase II.

The best thing we can all invest in is Iraq, and since we will all soon be flushed in cash assets, my best advice is to take positions with Iraqi stocks, and by all means, don't put it in the US or EU exchange for it is about to crash at years end, so beware, you heard it hear first. (g)

What we will soon see is an even better opportunity than the dinar will be as returns on investments in Iraq will be in the 1000% plus range in many cases, so given the fact that Iraq is going to make us all wealthy, why shouldn't we say thank you by investing in the country by investing in Iraqi stock markets. If ever there was an opportunity to become super rich, it will be in Iraq just as it was in US and EU after the wars, and it is no different here, huge potential is written all over Iraq. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

    More debt relief for Iraq.

Romania agrees to reduce Iraq’s debt by forty percent
    13/03/2006
    Source: NewKerala

Despite its earlier refusal, the Romanian government has agreed to reduce Iraq’s debt accumulated before December 1989 from 1.7 billion dollars to 977 million dollars, i.e. to forgive some 40 per cent of the total.

The government of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had made numerous purchases of industrial equipment, weapons and machinery from Romanian state owned companies and outstanding amounts totalled 1.7 billion dollars. The new government in Baghdad will have to repay the remaining amount within 23 years.

Last November, the Paris Club, a multilateral group of official creditors who try to find solutions to repayment problems faced by debtor nations, had decided to write off 80 per cent of Iraq’s massive external debt and urged other creditor nations to do the same.

In December, the Iraqi Finance Minister who was visiting Bucharest, had asked his Romanian counterpart to forgive some of the old debt owed to his country by the former regime in Baghdad. At that time, the request was turned down, but it seems that following some pressure by members of the Paris Club, the Romanian government has decided to forgive 40 per cent of the debt.

Germany, France and Denmark - all members of the Paris Club- cancelled an additional amount of 10.8 billion dollars of Iraq’s outstanding debt. More specifically, on December 22, Germany cancelled 5.6 billion dollars of Iraq’s outstanding debt, which amounts to 7 billion dollars.

For its part, France cancelled 5.2 billion dollars of 6.4 billion dollars debt and Denmark cancelled 42.6 million of 53.2 million dollars owed by the former Iraqi government. The Paris Club decision was to cancel 80 per cent of a total of 38.9 billion dollars owed to the group.

Iraq will have to repay the remaining amount to the three countries, over a 23-year period, with a grace period of six years on principal payments.
