Trade : More than 25 million people are covered by the ration card
(reference: Iraqi Constitution: Article 108, #9 conducting the general census of the population.)

A statistical report issued by the Department of Supply, Planning, the total number of registered covered by the ration card system throughout Iraq except for Kurdistan hit during the month of August last (25.763.538 people) This figure includes personnel 25.269.523 + 494015 children.
The report which was obtained (short) a copy of it. The number of newborn babies registered in the month was (57100 children). The number of deleted for various situations (such as death, travel and other), hit (7765 nationals) + (70 children). Hydrocarbon Law is the biggy, it needs to be incorporated with the FIL. Am still thinking we need total debt relief from Kuwait and Saudi which we don't currently have. They may be discussing it but knowing how the Saudis are they will drag their feet as there's no love lost between them and Iraq.....But inevitably, money speaks so it will be forgiven.

My own thoughts are, well, you probably don't want to know! LOL.

and considering i found that headline about the oil investment law yesterday in the iraqi presidency site i would say theyre probably gonna spring it on us shortly.

we were just discussing the fact that they let out the information about the 10000 dinar a bit too early or else they thought they would be ready before now and werent.

Well if they do pass it early then it really will be a sign of fast tracking eveything through. Initially they said end of the year, then end of next week, any earlier and xmas will be coming early for us too!

I don't know where this idea of "debit cards" came from. If you go back and read what the report said it says they will be handing out bank cheques with the ration cards. Might be one of the unfortunate by-products of the machine translations. Often they are somewhat garbled and difficult to read.

RATION CARDS, NOT DEBIT CARDS. they are also giving out the pay bonus' at the door of the banks on tuesday 17th. i feel as if the delay of the cheques is due to them coming AFTER the market opening in nyc.

As for the bonuses, you realise these were paid out to their people last year? So no, I don't see a r/v around this period. Am thinking end of November, WHY? Fil will be implemented, total debt forgiveness and hydrocarbon law sorted. Also coincides with the signing of the ICI......

It's only 6 weeks away and not the end of the world! Course we'll all take a lot sooner, lol.

saw reference in an article in the night about talks between saudi and iraq on their debt relief. it was last week they had it. probably came to some agreement.

I think they are passing everything together now!

FIL passed and will be enacted within one month according to the ISX department of Warka.

In a press briefing of 6th october, when rice kicked some ass there, they said and I quote `...the hydrocarbon law that the Iraqi parliament is now considering..´.

Well we have seen how fast the FIL passed after Rice and I think that she also mentioned the Hydrocarbon Law as well.

I also remember a post (have no link) that Warka stocks will be trading again withing 2 weeks. They are finalizing all procedures for foreign investors, I think we see the enaction of the FIL also by then.

We are looking for 2/3 weeks at the latest I think and I hope.

but if you check the imf website their status has not changed to article VIII yet.
